Impact of Nation Branding on FDI - Methodology Query
Question
  • May 2020
I am very interested in assessing Uzbekistan's current reforms and re-branding actions. Specifically, I would like to analyze if the current activities are helping enough to Uzbekistan to attract inward investment and provide suggestions for improvement.
Yet, I am in the process of developing my methodology - figuring out how I can analyze this situation, what data and tools I need. However, during my research about previous studies, I only found papers with a purpose to persuade that a particular country should start focusing on its branding, and proposing the strategies - so I am unable to replicate the methodology. There are many papers who took a descriptive and qualitative approach regarding the topic of Nation Branding.  Also, papers assessing the relationship between Nation Branding and FDI used several countries for the data set whereby used STATA for its analysis
However, I would like to study only the case of Uzbekistan and I cant run such small data on STATA. Thus, could you please share your thoughts about the feasibility of this topic and provide some suggestions about the methodology I can use for this research?

Can I use existing commercial packages as experiment stimuli (copyright concern) ?
Question
  • Jun 2021
I am considering an experiment in which I use existing commerical packages from nation brands as experiment stimuli to enhance ecological validity. However, I do not know if this can raise up some concerns over copyright. Especially marketing journals usually aks authors to present the stimuli they used in paper manuscript.
Can I use these existing commerical packages as experiment stimul?
Can I also present these packages in my article?
Shall I get permission to use them from the brand/company?
Thanks for your information.
