The authors did a great job on this experiment, but it would of been nice if the participants were tested again several weeks later to determine the differences of long term memory storage between the two methods used.
Additionally, the authors should add actual feet movement capabilities to the Oculus Virtual 3D head tracked stereoscopic HMD, as well as add other sensory triggers such as sound in the 3D environment or an external stimulation such as a light electrical zap on an arm for example.
I think activating other sensory stimulates would cause more neurotransmitter activity in the brain potentially having a stronger affect on long term memory storage.
This was a great study though which I appreciate the authors for doing and I enjoyed reading it. Thank You.
