What models/proposals/framework do you know to evaluate quality on modeling languages?
Question
  • Nov 2013
The aim of the question is gather from your opinion the models/proposals/framework which are used to measure/define a certain quality level of modeling language for requirements engineering. So far I have a few ideas like QM4MM to evaluate the maturity of the metamodels of these languages or SEQUAL (ant works of Krogstie.)

Doing the right projects
Question
  • Jun 2011
Project management is concerning doing the projects right. However, at a more strategic level of the organization, project portfolio management play a more important role in return of investment and business justification by doing the right projects.
Portfolio management enable the business anlaysis, financial analysis and risk analysis of a portolio of projects. That facilitate a better decision making at strategic level.
It seems to be a lack of study in the correlation between better portfolio management and the success rate of projects. The adoption level and maturity level of portfolio management in most organization are not high.
It could be a good research topic as well as a pratical case for project management practitioners and researchers.

Outlook of motor drive innovations
Question
  • Nov 2018
It is widely believed that motor drive has reached a competent level of maturity where hardly gives birth to new innovations. Would it be possible to see a revival of theoretical and/or practical innovations in this field, in a foreseeable future, taking into account the rapid progress in microelectronics, power electronics, permanent magnet materials in one hand, and demanding new applications like autonomous vehicles, drones, and fly by wire on the other?

Is there any current research on the topic „comfort zone“?
Question
  • Dec 2012
My current project is called “Maturity levels of Self-development”.
In this project I am gathering information from sciences [philosophy, psychology, Neuro-sciences etc.] as well as from spiritual and even magical literatur including other religions too.
My starting point is the 2000 year old “Gnothi seauton” or “Know Thyself”.
So the basic vocabulary I am dealing with is (extract): psyche, self, conciousness, unconciousness, mind, body, emotions, feelings, will, archetypes, development, transformation, individuation, etc.
I am convinced that the popular word “comfort zone” describes a very helpful construct for my project work, insofar, as each level of maturity has its own comfort zone, all of which are qualitatively different.

What is the most INNOVATIVE low carbon technology for Energy Supply?
Question
  • Jun 2016
In the context of the Low Carbon Energy Observatory of the Joint Research Centre we are opening up a consultation in order to identify which are the more INNOVATIVE technologies for energy supply
(INNOVATIVE technologies are those still far away from the maturity, with a Technology Readiness Level of 1-3, researched at the laboratory level or not successfully tested in pilot plants yet)
Please suggest the specific technology such as "Kesterite thin films" rather than "PV". Heretic ideas are welcomed!)
Thank you very much!!!

Question
  • Jan 2019
While calculating parameters in oil geochemistry like Pr/Ph, Pr/n-C17 and Ph/n-C18 etc to find biodegradation level, depositional environment & maturity, is it okay to use peak area in calculations.
How can we differentiate that the standards we are comparing our results with are based on GCMS-Chromatograms PEAK-HEIGHT or PEAK-AREA. Thanks in advance.
NOTE: I need the answer asap, will be thankful.

SPI experts from IT Industry- to validate framework for RCM in GSD
Question
  • Mar 2019
Assalam o alaikum
I have to validate a proposed framework for Requirement change management in Global Software-Development or Distributed Software-Development, as a part of my Master Thesis. The framework is supposed to follow Software process improvement model e.g. In our case its CMMI Dev 1.3 (maturity level 2) standards. The framework is proposed by conducting systematic literature review.
I need practitioners who can review framework on the basis of  activities, Work products /artifacts and Roles.

Linking Remote Sensing Technology with Management control system
Question
  • Jul 2021
As is well, the remote sensing imaging technoloy reach an acceptable level of maturity and as shown in so many applications remote sensing can serve in so many areas. It came to my mind and the through the professional practice with different clients, some basic understanding of management from system theory perspective is required to well position the remote sensing technology within the business context. In other words, a business understanding is required to maximize the value proposition of remote sensing within the solutions chain. Your comments and opinions are highly appreciated.

What factors impact the pledgeability of Brazilian companies?
Question
  • Jun 2020
Diamond (2019) define cash flow pledgeability as the fraction of realized cash flows that are automatically directed to an outside financier. More than that, we can say that pledgeability changes according to the payment risk to which the firm is exposed. For example, when the safe cash flow component is large relative to total cash flow, pledgeability is maximized by offering a safe repayment in every period; essentially safe short-term debt. On the other hand, the risky part of the cash flow makes up a significant fraction of the firm's overall cash flow, pledgeability is maximized by alternating between safe and risky repayments.
Increasing pledgeability means closing off tunnels for cash flows generated by a future decision maker. For example, Rajan (2012) affirms that by moving to a simpler corporate structure today, or by making contracts with more transparent suppliers with stricter rules, the incumbent ensures that future cash flows cannot be diverted to some nontransparent entity. By improving the high quality of accounting systems, independent audit firm, the incumbent restricts the scope for future managers to play accounting games to hide cash flows. Any shift from transparent accounting procedures to less transparent procedures, or from a reputable auditor to a less reputable auditor, would be noticed and invite closer scrutiny, impacting the pledgeability level.
To these mechanisms that affect the degree of pledgeability, we call asymmetric information. For example, Berger (2005) verified the effects of risk and information asymmetry in relation to the company's debt maturity. Through maturity data, risk assessments and other contractual conditions, the authors prove that a reduction in information asymmetry is associated with increases in maturity for low risk companies and also suggest that asymmetric information has a strong quantitative role in determining maturity debt.
Given the amount of research involving asymmetric information, some conclusions are important to understand how pledgeability is affected, fluctuates and can compromise other decisions of the firms. By this way, what factors impact the pledgeability of Brazilian companies?
