Is there any comparative study on devices that measure heart rate variability biofeedback?
Question
  • Nov 2022
Hi everyone,
I am researching about different devices that perform HRV (heart rate variability) biofeedback (iom2, emWave, elite HRV, etc.).
Unfortunately, I haven't found any comparative study about them. Does anyone know about a paper reporting this? I want to know which device is more accurate, or at least how I could perform a comparative analysis about them.
Thank you in advance,
Regards,
Fernando

Can anyone recommend equipment for heart rate biofeedback?
Question
  • Jan 2017
A colleague and I are interested in using EKG-based biofeedback for a new study. Neither of us has much experience with cardiac measures, so we're looking for equipment recommendations. Specifically, we would like a system that will allow us to detect changes in heart rate and/or PEP following a visual stimulus, which will be used to give onscreen feedback to the participant. We're planning to design our own program, so we'd like to find something that doesn't require us to use the company's proprietary software.
I've seen a lot of people recommending the Firstbeat Bodyguard 2 for EKG, but it looks like that can only be used to collect data offline. Can anyone recommend a good system that could be used for biofeedback?

Does HRV measured with the Polar H7 in combination with any software for handheld systems meet the criteria of reliability/validity?
Question
  • Aug 2015
I'm searching for a reliable and valid opportunity to measure HRV. I thought about the Polar H7 (Bluetooth Chest Strap) and any app for a smarthphone (like EliteHRV or similar), but I'm not able to find any information about the algorythm used by the different systems to calculate HRV. Does anyone have experience with this kind of measure?

Hello! I was wondering if anyone knows how the heart rate monitor App: "Heart Rate Variability Logger" calculates heart rate (bpm)?
Question
  • Jan 2021
Specifically, how does the App calculate heart rate (beats per minute (bpm))? Is heart rate calculated from an average number of beats over an interval (if so what is the duration of this interval). Or is heart rate calculated from the R-R (inter-beat) interval immediately preceding the beat. The latter does not seem to be correct as heart rate values from the App are not equivalent to R-R values from the App (that said, R-R values do not have a time-stamp so it is also unclear to me when these values are taken).
App details: Heart Rate Variability Logger - app details (marcoaltini.com)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
Thank you!
