Hello, I am preparing PVA/CNC/SiO2 composite, the mixture is very thick and not well mixed, if I dilute the solution, will it affect the properties?
Question
  • Mar 2022
Hello,
I am preparing a 3 wt% PVA solution, to be reinforced with crystalline nanocellulose (CNC) and silica, so the solution is very viscous, that the magnetic stirrer can't operate, and the over head mixer is not very effective apparently. Thus, I thought I might dilute the solution with known amount of water, assuming it will evaporate when drying the composite. So my question is, will that dilution affect any of the final properties of the composite? Or else, any advice for good mixing for high viscous solutions.
Thank you,
Hesham
