I have 217 preprocessed BrainVision matlab files (.mat) with ECG data in them. I've been having trouble creating a study for these. I know BioSig works for ECG data, but it doesn't seem to work for BrainVision files.
" struct with fields:
message: 'Unrecognized field name "brainvision".'"
bva-io handles brainvision files but didn't work either, I believe because of the ECG data.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

My pre-processed EEG data is being analyzed with a specialized statistics software, and some of it is being analyzed mixed altogether to better fit the model. I would very much like to visualize this data, even if it does not provide impactful meaning. I used a 32-channel montage but have selected 11 channels that are more relevant to my research questions. Is it possible to average the data from these 11 channels into one? If so, what transformations/solutions should I use and after/before what other transformations should I do it? What would be even better is if I were able to use Grand Averages for this task... but I realize this might be a stretch.
Thanks to anyone who can provide insights on this.

Hi everyone,
I'm having an issue with my ERP experiment. I'm using BrainVision Analyzer to analyze the data, I want to analyze the response-locked component. But I don't know how to merge the behavior data from E-prime to BrainVision Analyzer.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to get my E-Prime data to BrainVision Analyzer I'd very much appreciate it.

Hello,
I am using BrainVision Analyser to investigate theta-activity in a reality-monitoring exclusion memory paradigm (two encoding conditions; imagine/perceive and three target designations at retrieval; target/non-target/new). I have used the Complex Morelet Wavelet function. I have attached print screens of my pre-processing steps for your reference.
I am struggling to export the values for statistical analysis. From reading the BrainVision manual, I understood this could be done via the Area Export function. I have attached a print screen of the options available in case I have missed something obvious. However this always produces the same error "no history domain with frequency domain found". I can get an export using the Generic Data Export function. This exports power for each participant at each time point for each condition separately. I can do this for each participant (44) and condition (4), but this will be time consuming; I wanted to check this is correct before I commit to it. Alternatively, if I have misunderstood something entirely, I would greatly appreciate your input.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I look forward to hearing from you,
Amie

I´m currently using BVA 2.1 to analyze alpha frequency band in a dataset. Although I can find detailed resources regarding frequency band preprocessing using other software, and a good overview of BVA in the manual, I´m having trouble figuring out exactly how to preprocess frequency bands with BVA.
My main concern has to do with the Fast Fourier Transformation, and what parameters to use.
Furthermore, an overview of a pipeline example for frequency band analysis would also be helpful, as I am mostly used to dealing with ERP analysis, and so noth sure whether I may be missing any key steps.

Hi everyone,
I'm having an issue with my trigger codes for an ERP experiment. I'm using BrainVision Analyzer to analyze the data, and first wanted to make sure all the triggers were getting the correct information.
When I looked at the .vmrk file, only some of my triggers were showing up. For example, 161 triggers the first word of the sentence, 162 the second word, etc. But, the .vmrk was saying I have markers such as 5, 83, and 79, which are not apart of my experimental design.
In E-Prime, this is what the InLine text looks like:
WritePort &HD010, 0
Word1.OnsetSignalData = c.GetAttrib("TW2")
TW2 corresponds with the second word of the sentence, so it could be 152, 162, 172, so on and so forth.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to get my E-Prime trigger codes to match up with what BrainVision Analyzer is giving me as markers, I'd very much appreciate it.

Does anyone could share with me the steps to analyze the ERP data using BrainVision Analyzer 2? My data was collected using Brain Products V-Amp 8 channels.
Thank you in advance.

I would like to run a heirarchical multilevel model on EEG data, which will require extracting single trial data (from a few ERPs/time windows of interest) that has been preprocessed in BrainVision Analyzer 2.
I will need to specify the channels and time windows per ERP of interest (P100, P300, LPP), and also need to know the conditions of the task (whether a face observed was trustworthy/untrustworthy).
Ultimately, this should result in an amplitude from all trials (208) per subject defined by the time windows and channels of interest (while retaining the condition information without averaging).
Any solutions would be much appreciated!

Hello everyone,
I wanted to analyze some Data with the BrainVision Analyzer 2. I used the history template i used for similiar data some months ago. Everything is working fine until i try to do an Ocular Correction ICA. I always get the Error: "The transformation component Ocular Correction ICA could not be initialized because of an error in module <unknown> "
I used the same device and the data was recorded the same way.
I tryed it with just applaying the old history template i had and also with just clicking through the steps of the ICA. But i always get this failure.
I couldn't find a solution online but I hope maybe someone has had the same problem or if someone has a solution.
Best regards,
Nils
