This is my first attempt at the problem statement for my dissertation:
Automatization and computerization is blamed for the disappearance of middle-class jobs (Loi, 2015), as artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, and robotic advances match and outperform humans and threaten employment of middle class, white-collar worker globally (McKinsey Global Institute, 2017). In the United States, physical activities that are highly structured and predictable make up 51 percent within the economies accounting for $2.7 trillion in wages (McKinsey Global Institute, 2017). Corporate economies are at a difficult point because of the financial and resource linkage between companies and health plans, pensions, salaries, and other benefits cost rise and cut into corporate bottom line, transferring costs to employees as costs rise. AI, robotics and other technological advances to automation will increase job displacement and income inequality among middle-class, white-collar employees.
