Mental health problems among nurses are prevalent and harmful. Nurses worldwide have encountered serious mental health issues. Although fatigue has been proven to lead to substance abuse or addictive behaviors (such as internet addiction), there is a lack of sufficient data on whether there is a connection with compassion fatigue. Compassion fatigue is a common mental health problem in helping professions. Anxiety and inhibitory control have been demonstrated to be associated with internet addiction, but the mediating role between them in the state of compassion fatigue remains to be further explored. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the chain—mediating effect of anxiety and inhibitory control between compassion fatigue and internet addiction in the nurse population. From July to August 2024, a questionnaire survey was conducted using a convenience sampling method in 7 hospitals in Hunan Province, China. A total of 516 front—line clinical nurses were included, among whom 17 were male and 499 were female. Subjective data on compassion fatigue, internet addiction, anxiety, and inhibitory control were collected and analyzed. SPSS 26.0 and its PROCESS macro—plugin were used for data analysis. After controlling for age and gender, compassion fatigue was found to be a significant predictor of internet addiction (β = 0.40, P < 0.001). However, when anxiety and inhibitory control were added, the prediction of compassion fatigue on internet addiction in the nurse population remained significant (β = 0.18, P < 0.001). Eventually, the research results show that compassion fatigue can predict internet addiction through anxiety and inhibitory control. It is recommended that nursing managers provide appropriate emotional interventions for nurses with compassion fatigue or adjust the shift—scheduling and leave system to prevent the occurrence of internet addiction.

Objective To observe the effect of Ba Duan Jin (Eight-brocade Exercise) plus Tuina (Chinese therapeutic massage) in treating primary dysmenorrhea due to cold-induced blood stasis in female college students and on the score of fatigue scale-14 (FS-14). Methods Seventy-two female college students with primary dysmenorrhea due to cold-induced blood stasis were randomized into a Tuina group and a joint group, with 36 cases in each group. The Tuina group only received Tuina manipulations. In the joint group, besides the same Tuina manipulations, patients practiced Ba Duan Jin. For both groups, the once-daily intervention was conducted from 6 d before the menstrual period until menstrual day 1 for 3 menstrual cycles. Changes in the scores of COX menstrual symptom scale (CMSS), visual analog scale (VAS), and FS-14 after the intervention were observed. Clinical efficacy was also estimated. Results During the process, 1 case dropped out in the Tuina group, and 35 cases completed the intervention; 2 cases dropped out in the joint group, and 34 cases completed the intervention. The total effective rate was 94.1% in the joint group, higher than 88.6% in the Tuina group ( P <0.05). After treatment, the symptom duration and intensity scores in the scores of CMSS, VAS, and FS-14 declined in both groups ( P <0.05 or P <0.01); the CMSS symptom duration score and FS-14 score were lower in the joint group than in the Tuina group ( P <0.05). Conclusion Tuina manipulations alone or combined with Ba Duan Jin practice can effectively treat primary dysmenorrhea due to cold-induced blood stasis in female college students; when combined with Ba Duan Jin practice, Tuina manipulations can more significantly improve pain duration and fatigue, suggesting the advantages of combining Tuina Gongfa and manipulations.

To investigate the mechanism of action of Glycyrrhiza glabra in the treatment of diabetic encephalopathy using network pharmacology techniques and in vitro experiments. The TCMSP database was used to obtain the relevant chemical components and action targets of licorice, and then the disease target genes related to diabetic encephalopathy were obtained by GeneCards, OMIM and PharmGkb, and the corresponding targets of drug components and disease targets were taken as intersection targets; Cytoscape software was used to construct the component-target network map; the STRING database was used to draw The core targets were screened out by network topology analysis; GO function and KEGG signaling pathway enrichment analysis were performed by R 4.0.3 software; target-pathway network map was constructed by Cytoscape software; finally, the core components and key targets were validated by molecular docking technology and in vitro experiments. The analysis yielded 125 potential active ingredients, including key compounds such as isoglycyrrhizin, glycyrrhizin and quercetin; by topological analysis, 36 core genes were obtained, including GSK3β, AKT1, FOS, PPARG and other genes, which is mainly involved in IL-17 signaling pathway, PI3K/Akt signaling pathway, insulin resistance, neurodegenerative pathway-multiple diseases and In vitro experiments showed that ILG in licorice may act on GSK3β to regulate P13K/AKT/GSK3β signaling pathway and thus treat diabetic encephalopathy. This study fully embodies the concept of holistic and systematic view of Chinese medicine in disease treatment, and provides a theoretical basis and research method for the treatment of diabetic encephalopathy.
