Objective ÷ To investigate influence of administration of Shenxiao decoction on the expression of NADPH oxidase, renal function and structure in diabetic nephropathy rat.Method:Experimental diabetic nephropathy model was induced by nephrectomy combined with streptozotocin (STZ) injection in sprague-dawley rat. Shenxiao decoction and Irbesartan were orally administrated respectively for 16 weeks.and the expression of NADPH oxidase subunit p22hox was measured. 24 h urine protein excretion (Upro) and renal pathological changes were observed. Results÷ The ratio of urinary protein excretion, the renal protein expression of p22phox were significantly increased in diabetic nephropathy rat, and the renal protein expression of Cu-Zn- SOD were significantly decreased in diabetic nephropathy rat.Shenxiao decoction and Irbesartan treatment can significantly prevent these changes in diabetic nephropathy rat. Conclusion:Shenxiao decoction treatment can significantly decrease the renal oxidative stress level, lessen the renal oxidative damage, and produce the protection of kidney in diabetic nephropathy rat.

Objective : To discuss the effects of Chrysan them um morifolium on mRNA expressions of p53 and Bax in the Human Umbilical Vein Cells(HUVEC) under Induction and Cultivation of high glucose. Methods: Make four groups of the HUVEC as normal cells group, normal glucose only deal cells group high glucose -only deal cells group and Chrysanthemum morifolium + high glucose acting cells group. After 18~24h, the mRNA expressions of p53 and Bax were detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) method. Results: High glucose can up-regulation the mRNA expressions of p53 and Bax, and Chrysanthemum morifolium can decline the mRNA expressions of p53 and Bax in a dose-dependent manner, and the role of middle-dose is most manifest. Conclusion: Chrysanthemum morifolium can down-regulation the mRNA expressions of p53 and Bax, to prevent and cure diabetic vascular complications.

... Thus, the partial GIPR antagonist, (Pro 3 )GIP, has originally been demonstrated to improve obesity-related diabetes, reducing islet hypertrophy and improving insulin sensitivity [122], while also eliciting 8% weight loss following administration alone in obese mice [123]. These observations have been largely confirmed by others employing GIPR monoclonal antibodies [124]. Interestingly, there is a suggestion that the metabolic benefits of chronic GIPR agonism are related to desensitization of the GIPR, thus mimicking GIPR antagonism [125]. ...

... [12][13][14][15] Recent study found that amygdalin ameliorates renal and liver fibrosis mainly by suppressing TGF-β1/Smad signaling pathway and regulating the key enzymes of ECM degradation -Matrix Metalloproteinases-9 (MMP-9) and tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinases 1 (TIMP-1). 16,17 In addition, as an active ingredient of Fuzheng Huayu formula, which is a NMPA (National Medical Products Administration)-approved anti-fibrotic medicine in China, amygdalin is effective at alleviating liver fibrogenesis by inhibiting the proliferation and collagen production of active HSC, HSC activation and hepatocyte apoptosis. [18][19][20][21][22][23][24] However, due to the herbal products having multi-modulatory and multi-target action, comprehensive mechanism of anti-fibrotic effects of amygdalin remains elusive. ...

... Modern pharmacological studies have found mulberry leaf to have a high median lethal dose (LD50 > 15.0 g·kg⁻ 1 ) and to exhibit safety across various genotoxicity assessments [15][16][17]. Moreover, mulberry leaf aqueous extracts significantly inhibit macrophage inflammatory mediator secretion and autophagic pathways, thereby alleviating obesity [18,19]. In murine models, mulberry leaf demonstrates substantial hypoglycemic effects, modulating blood lipids and gut microbiota [20]. ...

... Moreover, during dumping of the flowers in landfills would automatically cause them rot and then turn them into a virus (mosaic virus), which is dangerous to humans, animals and the environment. 5 The chrysanthemum plant waste has increased annually during and after festivals or celebrations. If farmers opt to throw them away or burn them up, they cause harmful environmental impacts like air, water and river pollutions. ...

... It is estimated that approximately 30-40% of all patients with diabetes develop DN and is the leading cause of end stage renal disease (ESRD) [4]. The ESRD is considered the leading cause of kidney failure and death in patients with DM and that is why it is important to prevent diabetes development into DN [5]. Hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, advanced glycation products accumulation, duration of diabetes, familial clustering and genetic determinants are some of the risk factors which can make a diabetic patient susceptible to DN [2]. ...

... Using microarray analysis, Liu et al. [33] showed that TGF-β1 was one of the differentially expressed genes in early diabetic nephropathy (DN) and non-diabetic samples as its expression was upregulated. Further, serum TGF-β1 has been identified as a risk factor for developing DN and may even serve as a potential biomarker, as shown in a meta-analysis conducted by Mou et al. [34]. However, clinical trials have not demonstrated the effectiveness of anti-TGF-β1 antibodies in preventing DKD progression, suggesting a complex role of TGF-β1 in DKD [35]. ...
