Decision Support Systems

Multimorbidity, the presence of two or more chronic conditions within an individual, represents one of the most intricate challenges for global health systems. Traditional single-disease management often fails to address the multifaceted nature of multimorbidity. Network model emerges as a growing field for elucidating the interconnections among multimorbidity. However, the field lacks a standardized method to compute and visually represent of these networks. Given the challenges, this study proposes a three-stage methodology to decipher multimorbidity. First, we integrate the Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) method with the multimorbidity encapsulation framework to develop the Multimorbidity Risk Network (MRN). Second, we use complex network techniques to identify high-risk patterns within MRN communities. Finally, we apply machine learning techniques to correlate these communities with the biological attributes of patients that have been marginalized in most studies. Our approach advocates a paradigm shift from the conventional focus on single diseases to a holistic, patient-centric approach, providing decision-makers with integrated information technology artifacts for deciphering the multimorbidity.

Energy consuµption is one of the key topics of urban railway systeµs froµ the perspective of operating costs and environµental friendliness. Interstation speed profile and tiµetable optiµization are two µain µeans to achieve energy saving. A bi-level energy-efficient optiµization µethod is proposed in this study to associate the advantages of speed profile optiµization and tiµetable optiµization and reinforce the optiµization effect. Firstly, for lower-level optiµization, an interstation speed profile optiµization µodel is built based on µultiple running scheµes, and a µulti-objective evolutionary algorithµ coµbined with an analytic function is proposed to obtain Pareto front solutions. Then, for upper-level optiµization, an energy-efficient tiµetable optiµization µodel is constructed based on Pareto front solutions of each running section acquired froµ lower-level optiµization. Accordingly, the solving µethod with an evolutionary algorithµ is proposed to µiniµize total net energy consuµption. Finally, the case study of the Yizhuang line shows the effectiveness of the proposed µethod and 27.56% overall energy saved. Lastly, the results with different scenes revealed the influence of each level optiµization on the overall results.

In order to be able to make a good decision, we need to evaluate the uncertainty information of multiple attributes of different alternatives that obey the normal distribution, and the interrelationship among multiple attributes should be considered in the process of evaluating. This paper aims to propose a new multiple attribute decision-making (MADM) method, which uses a new aggregation operator to evaluate the uncertainty information that obey normal distribution comprehensively. We firstly extended Schweizer-Sklar (SS) t-norm (TN) and t-conorm (TCN) to q-rung orthopair normal fuzzy number (q-RONFN) and defined the Schweizer-Skla operational laws of q-rung orthopair normal fuzzy set (q-RONFs). Secondly, we developed q-rung orthopair normal fuzzy Maclaurin symmetric mean aggregation operators based on SS operations considering that the Maclaurin symmetric mean operator can reflect the interrelationship among multiple input variables. Furthermore, we discussed some desirable properties of the above operators, such as monotonicity, commutativity, and idempotency. Lastly, we proposed a novel MADM method based on developed aggregation operators. A numerical example on enterprise partner selection is given to testify the effectiveness of the developed method. The results of analysis indicated that our proposed aggregation operators have stronger information aggregation ability and are more general and flexible for MADM problems.

Sapphire crystals have been widely used in the fields of national defense and optical devices due to good chemical stability and high temperature resistance. In this study, the surface quality, edge fracture characteristic and subsurface damage behavior of sapphire induced by helical micro abrasive tools were experimentally investigated. Effects of geometrical structure of helix micro abrasive tool and process parameters on surface topography, section profile height and surface roughness of sapphire were analyzed. To reveal formation mechanism of subsurface damage of sapphire induced by micro-grinding process, the high temperature chemical corrosion was used to etch sapphire workpiece, and the transformation law of surface morphology and crack layer information with corrosion time were obtained. Besides, effects of geometrical structure of helix micro abrasive tool and process parameters on edge collapse feature and surface fracture length for sapphire crystals were discussed. Furthermore, the ratio of etching surface defect area was put forward to qualitatively the degree of subsurface damage and experimental results indicated that the ratio of etching surface defect area of sapphire was increased with the increase of feed speed and grinding depth. This research can supply a theoretical basis for understanding surface feature and subsurface damage behaviors of monocrystal sapphire involved in micro-grinding process and provide important guidance for high surface quality and low subsurface damage grinding of hard brittle materials.

... The proposed method is summarized in Eqs. (1)-(3) and is based on: i) a solid conceptual framework based on intentional bounded rationality (IBR) [28,68]; ii) previous empirical evidence on probabilistic regularity in expert judgments [69][70][71][72][73][74]; iii) theories that claim the economic value of ignorance as a reference in decision-making [75,76]; iv) the theory of the economic value of additional information, which relates the expected performance of a DSS to the gain from ignorance [77][78][79][80][81]; v) the results are consistent with previous research on DSS that implicitly used the proposed method [5,29,33,57,58,82,83]; vi) Section 6 presents a detailed case study demonstrating the applicability of the model to both δ and ε problems, showing reproducible and quantifiable results. This is of interest to (1) managers and directors because it provides information on the possible gain percentages of a DSS compared to not using it and (2) researchers because it allows them to compare the efficiency of different DSSs in the same scenario and to justify increasing (or not increasing) their complexity. ...

... As the market for micro-electronic and micromechanical products expands, together with the demand for small precision optical components, continuous advancements in micro-grinding technology are required. Sun et al. [115][116][117] proposed a hybrid process that combines low-speed wire electrical discharge machining with electroplating, effectively manufacturing a spiral-groove-structured grinding wheel with a diameter of less than 700 μm, as shown in Figure 8(b). In comparison with the traditional microgrinding tool, the novel microstructured grinding tool efficiently decreased the grinding force and improved the surface quality, achieving a 40% reduction in grinding force and a 20% and 15% reduction in R a and R z values of the machined sapphire workpieces, respectively. ...
