What is this page?
This page lists the scientific contributions of an author, who either does not have a ResearchGate profile, or has not yet added these contributions to their profile.
It was automatically created by ResearchGate to create a record of this author's body of work. We create such pages to advance our goal of creating and maintaining the most comprehensive scientific repository possible. In doing so, we process publicly available (personal) data relating to the author as a member of the scientific community.
If you're a ResearchGate member, you can follow this page to keep up with this author's work.

Salt sensitivity of blood pressure (BP) increases hypertension risk and associated adverse cardiovascular outcomes. At present, there are no validated rapid tests or diagnostic markers to identify salt sensitivity of BP in clinical practice. Based on our prior animal studies that report a role for brain Gαi2 proteins in the salt sensitivity of BP a...
Aim: We hypothesize that a) in the DSS rat, which in contrast to the normotensive DSR rat fails to up regulate PVN Gαi 2 proteins on a high salt intake (Wainford et al, Hypertension 2015), PVN specific Gαi 2 protein over expression will attenuate the development of salt sensitive hypertension (HTN) and, b) SNPs in the GNAI2 gene, which are associat...

... To examine potential associations between GNAI2 polymorphisms and the salt sensitivity of blood pressure, as suggested by our animal studies, we examined the Genetic Epidemiology of Salt Sensitivity (GenSalt) data set in which the salt sensitivity of blood pressure was rigorously assessed. In an examination of 968 Chinese individuals in GenSalt we found a positive association between the GNAI2 SNP rs10510755 and the salt sensitivity of blood pressure (60). SNP rs10510755 was present in 118 of 369 (~32%) salt sensitive individuals in the GenSalt data set. ...
