European aviation plays a key role in serving society’s needs for safe, secure and sustainable mobility in Europe and all over the world. Its impact on European economy is significant and must be sustained. Environmental protection is and will continue to be a key driver for the aviation industry as a whole. Meeting community expectations on aircraft noise, engine emission and fuel/energy consumption has always presented a challenge to aircraft and engine manufacturers and to those involved in airport planning and air traffic management. The paper describes the current points of the EU civil aviation on a way to ACARE FlightPath 2050 Challenge 3 goals, defined in PARE project at mid-term stage.

The possibility of using a mesh network for diagnosing heat power equipment is considered. A comparison is made between traditional Ethernet and IEEE 802.11s based networks. A working prototype of a measuring module of a system for diagnosing energy equipment, which is an element of a mesh network, has been developed. A functional diagram of the relationship of the measuring modules of the equipment diagnostic system has been constructed. Aspects of the installation and management of communications, energy saving in IEEE 802.11s are considered.

In this chapter, the concept of a scheme for informing the population about the state of pollution of the surface layer of atmospheric air is proposed to improve the environmental safety of an urbanized area in real time. The main goal of creating a scheme for informing the population about the state of pollution of the surface layer of atmospheric air is to organize the collection, processing, storage and issuance of information, which will provide information support for decision-making aimed at ensuring the ecological and hygienic well-being of an urbanized territory. GIS maps will form the basis for analyzing the possible impact on the population of various factors of environmental pollution. In order for the results of mathematical modeling of environmental monitoring data to contribute to decision-making in the current situation, the results of monitoring measurements should be easily transferred to the GIS and, conversely, the data from the GIS should be recognized and used to inform the population in real time. With a successful and correct combination of mathematical models, GIS and web technologies, it is possible to achieve the maximum effect from the results of monitoring the state of the surface layer of atmospheric air in an urbanized area.

In this section, a study of the complex influence of physical and chemical factors on the quality of the surface layer of atmospheric air is carried out, as the basis for the existence and ensuring the ecological safety of an urbanized territory. Since the indicators of physical and chemical pollution are expressed in absolute and relative values, their values must be reduced to the same dimension. For this, it is proposed to apply the method of assessing the air quality index (AQI). In contrast to the above method, where the corresponding concentrations of the pollutant are taken outside the interval, it is proposed to use the intervals of the multiplicity of the maximum permissible concentration’s excess of pollution to their standard values, including the determination of the level of pollution and the degree of its hazard, respectively.

In this chapter, the calculation of the variant of the emergetic balance between green areas (natural component) and technogenic components (cost component) of the Kyiv city’s districts is carried out. The urboecosystem and its ordering can be considered as a result of plant photosynthesis and the life-sustaining ability of environmental factors together with the consumption of non-renewable resources and the further production of goods and services. Green area energy indicators were calculated for city districts in order to assess the balance of energy consumption and production within a year. Emergy is one kind of available energy that has been previously used directly or indirectly to produce a product or service. The following were used as indicators for the emergetic balance of the expenditure component: consumed energy, calculated in terms of the equivalent fuel, and energy of noise and electromagnetic radiation.

Ensuring the ecological safety of an urbanized area, namely the development of special measures to maintain the quality of the urban environment at the required level, is a relatively new area of research. The substantive content of the scientific and conceptual basis for the ecological safety of an urbanized territory is considered on the example of the state of quality of the surface layer of atmospheric air, taking into account individual factors of chemical and physical pollution. Determination of the quality of the surface layer of atmospheric air includes the following stages: an inventory of factors and sources of impact; collection and generalization of information on the levels of exposure to adverse factors on the population and the environment; determination of points or zones within the residential area, for which it is necessary to reduce man-made impact.

In this chapter, a study of the complex influence of physical and chemical factors on the state of the environment is carried out using the example of the Kyiv city. To carry out research on the chemical pollution of the surface layer of the atmospheric air of the Kyiv city, a database was formed according to the data of the Central Geophysical Observatory. Statistical samples of pollutant concentrations are characterized by large volumes and include a complete list of pollutants that were monitored. Full-scale acoustic measurements were carried out in the vicinity of the international airport “Kyiv”. For the current traffic intensity, contour areas of equivalent sound levels were calculated for day and night.

This proceedings book is devoted to the development of environmental analysis of the surface layer of atmospheric air and green areas of urbanized areas. The analysis of scientific and methodological developments for assessing the level of environmental safety of urbanized areas, taking into account the influence of chemical and physical factors, is carried out. The choice of criteria for assessing the ecological state of the surface layer of atmospheric air is theoretically substantiated. The hazard index of the surface layer of atmospheric air, taking into account the influence of chemical and physical factors, and a method of its visual representation are proposed. An assessment of the environmental risk of the influence of the surface layer of the atmosphere was carried out. A quantitative assessment of the energy balance of the green zone is carried out for Kyiv city (Ukraine). Schemes for informing the population about the ecological state of air in real time are developed. The book is for researchers, engineers, as well as lecturers and postgraduates of higher education institutions dealing with issues of atmospheric pollution, ecological safety and urbanization.

... Businesses now demand more timely and transparent deliveries with enhanced traceability, which traditional container shipping struggles to meet [16] [17]. The movement of containers involves complex bilateral interactions among various entities in the logistics ecosystem, resulting in delays, inefficiencies, and susceptibility to fraud [18] [19]. Paper-based processes and numerous permissions and transactions further contribute to inefficiencies towards hard evidence of its effectiveness [20]. ...

... A recent study reports that the major carbon dioxide emission is from the transportation sector, which is around 7.2Giga tons [48]. One of the genuine reasons for heavy carbon emission by automotive and aerospace engines is their heavy-weight, so it can be controlled and reduced considerably by increasing the Al alloy usage in vehicles [49] the Canadian government aiming to bring down the emission rate to zero in near feature (2050) [50]; the European ACARE reports a drastic drop in carbon dioxide emission and noise by 38% and 37% respectively against the goal [51]. ...
