Discusses recent federal information policies that pose a threat to access to information. A short-lived policy for protection of sensitive but unclassified information is criticized, and the Computer Security Act of 1987, currently under consideration in Congress, is described. Involvement by the library and information community in developing national information policies is urged. (4 references) (MES)
