Through experimentation children and teachers did not try to control or manage the waste material; instead, they were encouraged to think with water, paper, nature, space, and waste sounds and smells, focusing on how they are active and participatory. Following Pacini-Ketchabaw et al. (2017), we were curious as to how mutual encounters might change teachers' and children's relations with waste materials and our engagement with the world.
