Studies by Chenthamilselvan, Kankara, and Rajan (2014) using a multi-temporal satellite image study along the coast of Karnataka from 1986-2006 demonstrated that 70% of the coast is either accreting or stable while the remaining coast is eroding. Studies were conducted by Ananth and Sundar (1990) and, Sarma and Sundar (1988) to evaluate the long-shore sediment transport off the Paradip area using the CERC formula.
