Excavations from 1989 to 1990 and 2005 to 2006 in a deserted town dating to the late 6th to 12th century and located at the eastern fringe of the city of Mannheim resulted in rich archaeological material. Alone by the first inspection of the Early and High Mediaeval pottery, many specialities could be recognised, e.g. the fragment of a vessel of Tatingen type or a sherd decorated by rollerstamp of the so-called Trierer Hospital-pottery.
