The performance of the LonWorks® technology has already been pointed out in Sect. 1.7.2.2. It is an open networking solution for building automation and control networks that was developed by the American company Echelon. It is designed in such a way that it can be used in centralized building automation controllers as well as in decentralized building control components. LonWorks is a standardized bus system (ANSI/CEA-709.1-B and EN ISO/IEC 14908) that enables intelligent devices to communicate with each other over a locally operated control network. LON stands for local operating network.

... To ensure security in cyberphysical systems and smart technologies, the KNX standard (ISO/IEC 14543) is used, which provides security services such as data confidentiality and integrity [44][45][46][47][48][49][50][51]. Fig. 2, 3 present the basic principles of security according to the KNX standard. ...

... When building smart energy systems, it is necessary to choose a method of data exchange between control and executive elements (controllers, relays, etc.). In this case, AS-i, ProfiNet, ModBus [1], KNX / EIB, LonWorks [2] and other protocols are usually used. Among these protocols, the KNX protocol is preferred thanks to its some specifications such as easy and fast installation, user-friendly software, and adaptation to the existing system. ...

... Bluetooth standards. To provide security services in cyber-physical systems, as a rule, the KNX/ЕІВ (European Installation Bus) standard (ISO/IEC 14543) is used based on the use of virtual private network channels (encryption AES-128, -256) [1][2][3][4][5][6][7]. The KNX standard in IP Secure mode allows to provide confidentiality and authenticity services based on the use of an additional mechanism (protective shell) that protects all KNXnet/IP data traffic [8]. ...

... Feedback loops and control logics are subject to this level of the hierarchy, such as possible horizontal information exchange. Control computers represent the upper management level and also enable cross-system functions (Merz et al., 2009 Each of the two towers offers 1049 units, whose organization in the façade system was inspired by a mashrabia. Opening adaptations of the units are carried out by an electric actuator, that is located at the centre of each unit (Karanouh & Kerber, 2015). ...
