Magnesium-silicate gel This gel occurs as a narrow rim in the place of brucite on the inner periphery of dolomite crystals, as a result of the reaction between brucite (or its gel) in dedolomitisation and cryptocrystalline quartz (or ASG) present nearby (Figure 2(c)).
