Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah (UPTD) Balai Pembibitan Ternak Kambing Provinsi Lampung merupakan institusi yang menyediakan ternak kambing elite yang disebar ke peternak kambing sejak 2005 untuk mendukung Lampung sebagai gudang ternak nasional. Dalam menyediakan bibit unggul UPTD ini terkendala dengan penurunan produktivitas kambing dalam 7 tahun terakhir sebagai akibat terjadinya inbreeding karena tidak terkontrolnya catatan kambing dan seleksi yang diterapkan yakni seleksi individu berdasarkan bobot badan tanpa mempertimbangkan faktor genetik dan lingkungan yang mempengaruhi performan ternak. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk melakukan pembinaan program seleksi untuk meningkatkan produktivitas ternak kambing di Lampung. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan pemberian contoh rekording yang baik dan komprehensif. Pelatihan estimasi nilai pemuliaan kambing dengan metode BLUP dilakukan dengan metode ceramah/kuliah dan praktek langsung estimasi nilai pemuliaan kambing yang ada di UPTD menggunakan software WOMBAT. Setelah dilakukan ceramah, terjadi peningkaan pengetahuan peserta tentang recording yang baik 30% yaitu meningkat dari 40% menjadi 70%. Hasil pretest menunjukkan bahwa peserta belum tahu tentang estimasi EBV dengan BLUP (0%) dan setelah dilakukan ceramah, diskusi, dan praktek langsung estimasi nilai EBV melalui analisis BLUP dengan menggunakan contoh kasus, pengetahuan peserta dapat memahami tentang BLUP dengan nilai posttest sebanyak 50%. Meskipun jumlah peserta yang memahami BLUP sebanyak 50%, ini sudah cukup bagi UPTD untuk menerapkan BLUP nantinya setelah data recording lengkap

The purpose of this study was to determine the reproductive status, Natural Increase (NI), Net Replacement Rate (NRR), and Output, of Brahman Cross cattle in Maju Sejahtera Cooperative, Tanjung Sari District, South Lampung Regency. This research was conducted in one month, started from December 2019 to January 2020. Data was collected from all Brahman Cross cattle breeders in the Maju Sejahtera Cooperative by interviewing respondents. Female cattle are used natural mating methods. The age of first mating of heifers is two years. Calving interval (CI) of Brahman Cross cattle at Maju Sejahtera Cooperative is 12.4months. Natural Increase (NI) of Brahman Cross cattle in Maju Sejahtera Cooperative is 29.48%. The Net Replacement Rate (NRR) value of male Brahman Cross cattle at the Maju Sejahtera Cooperative is more than 100% (670.4%). The output of Brahman Cross cattle at the Maju Sejahtera Cooperative is 52.43%.

This study aimed to evaluate Brahman Cross cow from Indonesia Australia Commercial Cattle Breeding (IACCB) program through the cow Body Condition Score (BCS), calf birth weight, and weaning weight of the Brahman Cross at people farm of “Koperasi Produksi Ternak (KPT) Maju Sejahtera” in Tanjungsari District, South Lampung Regency. This study was conducted in March 2020 using survey method with census data collection of which all the 5 years old Brahman Cross cow at the study location were used in this study. The data consisted of primary and secondary data which was analyzed by descriptive analysis. The results of this research showed that the average score of cow BCS, calf birth weight, and weaning weight were 2,92 ± 0,71, 30,04 ± 3,44 kg, 85,63 ± 11,74 kg, respectively. The conclusion of this research was that the cow BCS, calf birth weight, and weaning weight of Brahman Cross from IACCB program in Tanjungsari District is good enough. This study aimed to determine the physical quality of Ettawa Grade (PE) goat milk at various lactation periods in East Metro District, Metro City, Lampung Province, and to determine whether the quality of PE goat milk was in accordance with the standards set out in SNI No 01-3141-1998. This research was conducted on September 16, 2019, at the farm owned by Mr. Setiono Heri Winarko on Jalan Sepat, Yosodadi, East Metro District, Metro City, Lampung Province. Physical quality testing of PE goat milk was carried out at the Animal Production and Reproduction Laboratory, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The research was conducted using a case study method. Data collected was using primary and secondary data. The variables observed included the organoleptic tests, which were color, aroma, taste, and acceptability test of PE goat's milk; and physical tests including specific gravity, boiling test, alcohol test for the acidity (pH) of PE goat milk. The results of the research on the lactation color test 1, 2, 3, and 4 were 3.53, 3.53, 3.22, 3.12, respectively. Aroma test results were 3.56, 3.70, 3.54, and 3.40 for lactation 1, 2, 3, and 4, respectively. The taste tests for lactation 1, 2, 3, and 4 were 3.50, 3.78, 3.54, and 3.45, respectively. The acceptance test result were 3.50, 3.86, 3.72, and 3.63 for lactation 1, 2, 3, and 4, respectively. Density test of milk for lactation 1, 2, 3, and 4 were 1.028; 1.030; 1.036; 1.033. In the boiling test and lactation alcohol 1-4, there was no clod (-), and the pH test was 6.39, 6.62, 6.60, and 6.57 in lactation 1, 2, 3, and 4, respectively. This study aimed to determine the Correlation and the regression equation between body measurements and body weight of Brahman Cross (BX) Cow in KPT Maju Sejahtera Trimulyo village, Tanjung Bintang District, Lampung Selatan Regency. This research was conducted in July 2020. The data obtained were analyzed using simple and multiple regression analysis using the help of the Excel program. The material used in this study were 32 Brahman Cross (BX) Cow aged 2-3 years. The results of this study indicated that the average of Body Weight (BW), Chest Circumference (CC), Body Length (BL), and Shoulder height (SH) were 472.66 � 53.59 kg, 179.95 � 7, 95 cm, 132.49 � 6.39 cm, 127.95 � 3.08 cm, respectively. The correlation value between CC, BL, SH with BB were 0.764, 0.448, and 0.551, respectively. These results indicated that CC, BL, SH, have a positive relationship with BW. The regression equation resulting from the relationship between body weight and body size CC, BL, SH to BW with the value of determination (R2) and significance (P?0.05) was 0.607 (60.7%) with the regression equation BW = -674.003 + 4.314 CC + 1.247 BL + 1.602 SH. The research was conducted with the aim of knowing the repeatability estimate and Most Probable Producing Ability (MPPA) value of the weaning weight of female Saburai goats. This research was conducted from July to September 2019 in Gisting, Sumberejo, and East Kota Agung districts, Tanggamus regency, which is the development area for Saburai goat seeds. This research used a survey method. The data used was in the form of primary data obtained from breeders through questionnaires and secondary data, namely in the form of farmer's goat records. The research material consisted of recording of female Saburai goats which had given birth more than twice. The records required in this study included age of dam at delivery, age of kid at weaning (weaning age), kid's birth weight, weaning weight of the kid, type of birth, and sex from 2016 to 2018, and questionnaires for breeders. The results of this study indicated that repeatability estimate of weaning weight of Saburai goat in Gisting, Sumberejo, and East Kota Agung districts were 0.478 (high category), 0.19 (low category) and 0.13 (low category), respectively. The results also indicated that the average MPPA value of weaning weight for Saburai goats in Gisting, Sumberejo, and East Kota Agung districts were 21.91 � 0.04, 17.91 � 0.06, and 9.88 � 0.01, respectively. This research aimed to compare the growth performance of Ongole Grade (PO) cattle in Purwodadi Dalam and Wawasan villages. This research was conducted from December 2019 to January 2020 at the People's Animal Husbandry Center, Wawasan Village and Purwodadi Dalam Village, Tanjungsari District, South Lampung Regency, Lampung Province. This study used a survey method (purposive sampling), using primary and secondary data. The observed variables were birth weight, weaning weight and yearling weight. The results showed that the average weight gain of PO cattle in the village of Wawasan was 84.33 � 19.18 kg / head, which was higher than that of Purwodadi Dalam, namely 80.17 � 19.49 kg / head. The body weight gain after weaning of PO cattle in Wawasan Village was 39.15 � 21.34 kg, higher than that in Purwodadi Dalam Village, namely 37.75 � 21.10 kg / head. The body weight gain from birth to one year of PO cattle in Wawasan Village was 123.49 � 26.26 kg / head, which was also higher than that in Purwodadi Dalam Village, namely 117.93 � 30.50 kg / head. The results also showed that the corrected weaning weight of PO cattle in Wawasan Village (122.40 � 23.20 kg / head) was higher than that in Purwodadi Dalam Village (121.24 � 22.86 kg / head), and the average body weight of one year old of PO cattle in Wawasan Village was 147.95 � 26.58 kg / head higher than that in Purwodadi Dalam Village with an average weight of 141.98 � 31.37 kg / head. The results of the current study concluded that the growth performance of PO cattle in Wawasan Village was better than those in Purwodadi Dalam Village. Saburai goat is a new composite breed in Lampung Province with little information on its performance. This research aimed to predict body weight based on body measurements, namely body length (BL), chest girth (CG), and shoulder height (SH) in female Saburai goats. This study used 42 female Saburai goats aged 3-4 years. The method used in this study was a survey, namely all-female Saburai goats aged 3-4 years were used for this research. The data obtained were analyzed using correlation and simple and multiple linear regression analysis using R program. Coefficient determination (R2), adjusted R2, residual standard error (RSE), Akaike information criterion (AIC), Bayesian information criterion (BIC), and stepwise regression analysis were used to find the best and most parsimonious regression model to predict BW based on body measurements. The results showed that BL, CG, and SH were positively and significantly correlated with BW of female Saburai goats with correlation coefficients of 0.858, 0.956 and 0.862, respectively. Chest girth was the best predictor for BW if using single predictor with regression equation of Ŷ = -31.17 + 0.93X2. However, combination of BL and CG was the best and most parsimonious regression model in predicting BW of female Saburai goat with regression equation of Ŷ = -36.09 + 0.31X1 + 0.72X2 with R2 = 0.941, adjusted R2 = 0.938, RSE = 2.842, AIC = 216.73 and BIC = 223.78. In conclusion, all body measurements in this study (particularly combination of BL and CG) could be used as predictor for BW with high accuracy of prediction. The result of this study suggested that CG and BL could be as indirect criteria to improve BW of female Saburai goats.

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui estimasi nilai korelasi genetik antara berat lahir dan berat sapih pada kambing saburai di Kabupaten Tanggamus. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Juli-Agustus 2018, berlokasi di Sentra pembibitan kambing saburai di Kabupaten Tanggamus. Materi penelitian ini sebanyak data 136 indukan dan data 150 anakan kambing saburai. Metode penelitian yaitu survei menggunakan data recording dan kuesioner. Variabel yang diamati adalah berat lahir dan berat sapih induk, berat lahir dan berat sapih cempe, umur sapih, umur induk saat melahirkan, tipe kelahiran cempe, dan jenis kelamin cempe. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berat lahir dan berat sapih induk masing-masing adalah 3,10±0,47 dan 12,15± 2,29; berat lahir dan berat sapih cempe masing-masing adalah 3,25±0,48 dan 12,60± 2,77. Korelasi genetik berat lahir dan berat sapih di Sentra Pembibitan Kabupaten Tanggamus adalah 0,37. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah seleksi peningkatan bobot lahir akan meningkatkan bobot sapih kambing saburai.Kata kunci: bobot lahir, bobot sapih, kambing saburai, korelasi genetikABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the estimation of genetic correlation values of birth weights and weaning weights in Saburai goats in Tanggamus regency. The study was conducted in July-August 2018, located in the breeding area, Tanggamus Regency. The materials of research were data from 136 doe and 150 kids. The research was conducted by survey method using the recording data and questionnaire. The variables observed were birth weight and weaning weight of doe, birth weight and weaning weight of the kid, weaning age, doe’s age at parturition, birth type of kid, and sex of kid. The results of this study indicate that the average birth weight of doe was 3.10±0.47, the weaning weight of doe was 12.15±2.29, the birth weight of kid was 3.25±0.48, and weaning weight of kid was 12.60±2.77. It can be concluded that the estimation of genetic correlation between birth weight and weaning weight of saburai goat was high with score of 0.37. The research investigates to know performance of calf from Crossing between Peranakan Ongole (PO) dams with some of the bull at one years age. Located of research in Terbanggi Besar District, Central Lampung Regency. This research was doing in May until August 2018. Material of research are 30 head PO Cattle, 30 head Simmental><PO; 30 head Limousin><PO. Variable of research are body length, shoulder height, chest circumference and body weight. Qualitatif performance variables are colour of skin, type of head, type of face, hump, hides cattle, and horn type. Qualitative data analyzed by descriptive analysis, and quantitative data analyzed by t-test. The result of research showing calf qualitative performance has different in every bull. Body weight of cattle for each are PO cattle (248,36± 24,89kg); calf from Simmental><PO cattle (257,08± 27,88kg) and it’s showing significant different (P<0.05); calf from Limousin><PO cattle (252,25± 32,51kg).
