... Exposure to threat and danger increases the probability of dysfunctional adaptation (Crittenden and Landini, 2011). Crittenden (2008) introduced the dynamic maturational model (DMM) of attachment, which was developed out of the work by Bowlby (1988;1980;1973;1971) as well as Ainsworth's work on the theory and models of attachment (Ainsworth et al, 1978).
