This study aims to develop and produce a high-quality (valid, practical, and effective) ethno-inquiry practical guide to train students' critical thinking skills. This research is developmental and uses the R&D model. The teaching material developed was applied to 85 students from the Biology Education Department. The analysis of the practical guide's quality was conducted using average validity scores, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, paired t-test, N-gain, and ANOVA tests. The results show that the ethno-inquiry practical guide meets the following criteria: 1) valid based on content and construct validity reviews, 2) practical for use in learning, as indicated by excellent implementation of learning activities, and 3) effective in enhancing students' critical thinking skills with scores ranging from 0.40-0.52 (medium category). Based on student responses, the ethno-inquiry practical guide is categorized as good. This research implies that the practical guide can serve as an innovative solution to improve students' critical thinking skills

Bats play an important role in the survival of the ecosystem, however, bats are also becoming reservoirs and vectors in the transmission of some human diseases. There are many genera of bacteria that have been reported to exist in the body of a bat and can infect a human being including Salmonella, Bartonella, Staphylococcus, Pseudomonas , and Neisseria . The study aimed to detect bacteria on the bat’s body and to evaluate its implications on tourism, especially tourism in the Special Economic Regions (KEK) of Mandalika. An observation was made from August 2022 to January 2023. Bat samples were taken at several nests in the bat’s natural habitat in Mandalika, between Kuta, Mertak, Prabu and Mekarsari villages. The observation of bacterial culture was performed from samples isolated from rectal swabs and blood collection. Carry Blair Transport Media was used as transport media. In the laboratory, samples were aseptically cultured in Soy Trypticase media and incubated at 37°C for 24 hours. The colonies were subcultured and examined on their colony characteristics, cell characteristics using Gram staining and biochemical characteristics using biochemical testing. Identification of the bacteria referred to Bergey’s Manual of Determinative Microbiology Ninth edition. From 90 bats caught, there were 5 species of the bats that were infected by bacteria, namely Cynopterus nusatenggara, Rosettus amplexicaudatus, Eonycteris spelaea, Rhinolopus acuminatus , and hipposideros diadema . There were 13 species infecting those bats including Kurthia sp., Shigella sp., Bacillus sp., Proteus sp. Proteus vulgaris, Clostridium sp., Serratia sp., Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus epidermis, Staphylococcus aureus, Eschericia coli , and Acinotobacter calcoaceticus were identified. In conclusion, the study highlights that various bacterial species inhabit bats in Mandalika, which may pose health risks to humans and have implications for tourism development in the area. This underscores the importance of implementing biosecurity measures and public health monitoring, especially in tourism sectors within ecologically sensitive regions like Mandalika.

This research provides an in-depth review of the integration of digital literacy and cyber socialization in 21st-century education, positing the importance of these two aspects in preparing students for an ever-evolving world. Using PRISMA's framework for systematic analysis, the study evaluated articles from reputable journals between 2014 and 2024, presenting results that underscore a significant shift in the educational paradigm from traditional to digital. Digital literacy, defined as the ability to use technology efficiently, search and evaluate information, and communicate effectively on digital platforms, has become an essential requirement in modern education. The study shows that digital literacy not only improves technical skills but also supports critical and creative learning among students. In addition, digital literacy education includes teaching ethics and online safety and encouraging responsible internet use. Cyber socialization, with its focus on interaction through social media and digital platforms, has enriched the learning experience through wider collaboration and exchange of resources. However, it also poses challenges such as cyberbullying and security issues, which demand a structured educational response to address related social and psychological issues. The Industrial Revolution 4.0 and the COVID-19 pandemic have accelerated the acceptance of technology in education, emphasizing the importance of character education and the adaptation of innovative teaching methods. Education that is responsive to technological change must integrate digital literacy into all aspects of learning, leading to a more holistic and inclusive approach. Overall, the study underscores the importance of digital literacy and cyber socialization in shaping adaptive and supportive learning environments. 21st-century education must recognize and utilize technology not only as an auxiliary tool but as an integral part of the curriculum, to equip students with the skills needed to succeed in the digital age. By ensuring that digital literacy and cyber socialization are at the heart of education, we can anticipate future needs and challenges, shaping a generation that can not only survive but thrive in an ever-changing digital landscape.

The competence possessed by teachers is an important factor in achieving learning and education goals in schools. One of the essential competencies in the learning process is pedagogical competence. The Era of Independent Learning marks a paradigm shift in education in Indonesia by utilizing technology to improve the quality of learning. However, challenges arise especially in affirmation areas that have different socio-economic conditions and educational infrastructure. This study aims to determine the ability of teachers' pedagogic competence in facing the digitalization of education in the era of Independent Learning based on affirmation areas. In addition, this study also groups teachers based on their pedagogic abilities towards the digitalization of education in the era of Freedom of Learning using cluster analysis analyzed through SPSS For Windows 23. The research sample consisted of 100 respondents from several affirmation regions in Indonesia, such as Bima, West Lombok, East Lombok, Central Lombok, Maluku, NTT, Papua, and Sumbawa. Additional respondents came from non-affirmative areas as comparators, including Mataram City, Surabaya, Kalimantan, and Magetan East Java. The results of the study show that West Lombok Regency has the highest level of pedagogic competence among affirmation areas with a score of 87.74, while Bima Regency has the lowest score of 75. This average score is still categorized as high because it is above 75. The comparison area shows that Magetan has the highest average score of 100. Cluster analysis showed the formation of two groups, namely cluster 1 consisting of teachers from Magetan, Papua, West Lombok, and NTT, and cluster 2 consisting of teachers from Kalimantan, Bima, Surabaya, Mataram City, Maluku, Sumbawa, and Central Lombok.

This research aims to analyze the increase in biodiversity literacy skills based on learning methods and level of education. Apart from that, this research also analyzes indicators of biodiversity literacy. The research analyzed 8 reputable international journals with 6 learning methods, 4 levels of education, and 10 biodiversity literacy assessment indicators. The research was carried out with meta analysis in the form of effect size analysis using the OpenMEE application. The research results stated that, based on the analysis of 8 reputable international journals, the estimated Effect Size (ES) value was 0.357 in the medium category (0.2 ≤ ES ≤ 0.8) and the p-Value < 0.001. Meanwhile, heterogeneous analysis shows that the Tau^2 value is 0.127 with an I^2 of 89.434, meaning that the diversity of variance from the journal studies analyzed has a very significant effect. Meanwhile, the results of the effect size analysis based on the learning model stated that there were 3 learning methods that obtained an estimated Effect Size (ES) value in the high category, including: Green Learning Method (GeLem) obtained an estimated effect size value of 3.797, a learning method based on local wisdom obtained a value The estimated effect size was 1.665, and the Virtual Field Trip assisted by Augmented Reality obtained an estimated effect size value of 0.974. Furthermore, the results of the effect size analysis of biodiversity literacy abilities at various levels of education stated that high school students had higher biodiversity literacy abilities compared to other levels of education, namely 1.281 in the high category (ES ³ 0.8). This research also analyzes the effect size value based on biodiversity literacy indicators. Based on 10 biodiversity literacy indicators, only one indicator shows the highest estimated effect size value compared to other indicators, namely the environmental knowledge indicator of 1.813. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence in increasing biodiversity literacy skills based on learning methods and level of education.
