... As sea level rise decelerated, the turn-around to regressive highstand deposits occurred at 3.5 to 3.2 ka BP, leading to intertidal oyster accumulations and mangrove islands. From 1900 to 2021, however, sea level in southern Florida rose at an average of 2.52 mm yr −1 , and from 2000 to 2021 this average was 6.47 mm yr −1 (Parkinson and Wdowinski, 2021).
