An analysis of the clinicofunctional and also morphologic manifestations of hepatopathy in 440 phthisic subjects revealed 3 forms of affections involving this organ: infectious allergic hepatitis characterized by nonspecific diffuse and nodular inflammatory and also dystrophic (including fatty degeneration), necrotic, regenerative and fibrotic changes in the liver tissue; tuberculosis of the liver in the form of multiple lesions with the formation of characteristic epithelioid cellular granulomas, giant cells and caseous necrosis in the center; tuberculosis of the porta hepatis in the form of caseous lesions of lymph nodes compressing the bile ducts or the portal vein. Major clinical symptoms and functional changes found in these forms of hepatic affection are listed.
