... There ' online': the internet was still too new, too tentative, despite or even because I was a junior and untenured academic I was both able to, and had to, lead. Even government policy, whether here or in the USA, still largely focused on the ' coming' of broadband interactive services which would be delivered by an organized capital convergence of telecommunications and media and was missing the real point of the internet (see Kyrish 1996).
