Background: In its most persistent form, vertigo is a subjective phenomenon experienced among vestibulocochlear disorder patients. Although there is ample research on its co-morbidity with stress, depression, and anxiety, that on co-morbidity with other fundamental psychiatric symptoms, such as malingering has obtained less attention. Therefore the objective of the current study was to examine associations of vertigo, stress, depression, anxiety, malingering and coping strategies in patients with vestibular disorder, and to identify potential moderation effects of malingering among the study variables. Methods: In present study, a purposive sampling technique and cross-sectional design were used. This study was performed on two hundred and two vestibulocochlear disorder patients having chief complaints of vertigo, age ranged from 18 to 89 (M = 46.14; SD = 16.64) recruited from various hospitals of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Pakistan from February 2019 to August 2019. Also co morbidities of other diseases were consulted through a detailed medical history and prior imaging test results from other institutions. Results: Findings of present study demonstrated that there were significant associations among malingering, coping styles, vertigo, anxiety, stress and depression in patients with vestibulocochlear disorder. Also it was revealed that female patients were more inclined towards increased levels of stress, depression, anxiety as compared to male patients. Typically it was noted that the effects of vertigo on psychological distress and effect of coping strategies were moderated by malingering, with these effects being more crucial for vestibulocochlear disorder patients with different levels of malingering. Conclusions: This study would be beneficial to comprehend the mechanism that enhances vertigo intensity through psychological negative vicious circle, and to further clarify the impeding modifiable factors pointing out towards the development of new interventions and prevention strategies for tackling this problem in vertigo patients.

Furthermore, this study also investigated moderating role of emotional regulation on the relationship between hospital anxiety, and symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression. Methods: Purposive sampling technique was used bases on cross-sectional study design. One hundred fifty-five diagnose patients with breast cancer were recruited from different hospitals as the Noori Hospital, Islamabad, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad, Kulsoom International Hospital and Combined Military Hospital, Rawalpindi, Pakistan from August, 2019 to January, 2020. The participant's age ranges from 20 to 50 years old (M=35.00, SD=2.01). Four standardized instruments were performed to examine the prevalence of hospital anxiety, stress, depression, anxiety, emotional regulation, positive and negative mood swings in patients with breast. Results: Correlational and moderation analysis was performed to analyze data of study. This study's results demonstrated that hospital anxiety was positively associated with psychological distress, anxiety and depression in breast cancer patients. Moreover, results of current study revealed that emotional regulation was negatively related to higher level of negative mood and hospital depression in cancer patients. Moreover, Finding also demonstrated that emotional regulation was playing role of moderator between overall hospital anxiety and emotional regulation in breast cancer patients. Moderation analysis found that hospital anxiety was associated with lower level of stress because it favors of higher prevalence of emotional regulation in breast cancer patients. Conclusions: The results of this study will be very helpful in hospitals for evaluation psychiatric features such as depression, anxiety and stress in breast cancer patients. But still there is a need to discover other psychological factors relating this study.

Adaptation level theory of tinnitus and neuropsychological theory of tinnitus are extensively used frameworks for understanding emotional and psychological distress among tinnitus sufferers. Objective of the present study was to investigate potential associations between hearing loss, tinnitus, anxiety, depression, and stress. The Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (Newman, Jacobson, & Spitzer, 1996) and the Depression, Anxiety, Stress Scale (Lovibond & Lovibond, 1995)scales were administered to a sample of 110 tinnitus outpatients recruited from Audiology departments of Lahore and Rawalpindi hospitals. Results revealed tinnitus was positively linked with psychological problems. Additionally, it was established that tinnitus is a positive significant predictor for anxiety, stress and depression. The moderation models related to the interactions between psychological problems and hearing loss were negative significant predictors for tinnitus symptoms. Moreover, the comparative analysis between gender differences revealed a significant diversity in the levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. Results also elucidated that patients at initial stages of hearing loss were more prone towards reporting tinnitus symptoms along with emerging psychological problems.

Current study was designed to examine the moderating role of gender between perception of tinnitus and psychological distress among male and female tinnitus patients. Participant consisted of 110 Tinnitus Patients (Male n=70, Female n= 40). Purposive sampling technique was used based on cross-sectional design.Data was collected from various hospitals of Pakistan, through complete otorhinolaryngological (ear) examination. Two scales Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS) and Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI) were employed to measure perception of tinnitus, stress, anxiety and depression in tinnitus patients. This study results revealed that gender acted as a moderator among perception of tinnitus, depression, anxiety and stress. The results indicated that gender was positively significant predictor for anxiety (β=.45, p < .01), depression (β=1.17, p < .01) in tinnitus patients. The results suggested that females are more prone to anxiety than males. Depression is also perceived more by female tinnitus patients. Outcomes of the study do serve an understanding of psychological ailments among tinnitus patients. It will further help the clinicians to treat the psychological issues related with the physical illness of tinnitus gender wise.
