Effective classroom management is directly associated with a positive class environment and positive outcomes. In this study, we examined the different determinants of the classroom management. This study was conducted in four secondary schools (private) in the District of Faisalabad in Punjab province. Students from class 10th were considered as the population, thus from each selected school, the total number of students was 350 which served as the population of this study. All the participants were female students. Of the total population, 25 students were chosen from each selected school, thereby the total sample size of the study was 100 female students. A questionnaire was administered for the data collection and was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Results revealed that perceived challenges faced by students in the classroom, with mental illness, lack of self-confidence, personal issues, and poor listening emerging as the most prominent concerns. Whereas, factors perceived to significantly affect classroom management, highlighting disabilities, lack of interest, and self-esteem as primary considerations for educators and administrators. Investing in teacher training programs that focus on aspects of classroom management can enhance their ability to create a positive and conducive learning environment.

Self-regulation is regarded as important due to its positive impact on educational and behavioural results. Therefore, this study was conducted to explore motivational determinants of self-regulated learning for postgraduate students. This study was conducted at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. A total of 202 randomly selected students were interviewed using the structured questionnaire, and collected data were analysed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Results indicated that the determinants of internal motivation vary in their influence on students' motivation levels. The highest-ranked determinants were related to the student's belief in their capabilities, the perception of self-regulated learning as valuable, and the positive impact on self-esteem. Students perceived various positive outcomes and benefits associated with self-regulated learning. They believe it enhances their understanding, improves their grades, provides satisfaction, broadens knowledge, and motivates further learning. Students also value the ability to demonstrate their abilities to others and the opportunity to learn from mistakes. This implies that self-regulated learning seems to have a positive impact on students’ development, thus, continuous motivation is deemed important to increase the outcomes.

Agriculture is deemed important in Afghanistan especially to achieve food security. The agricultural extension department is destined to assist farmers by making them aware of the new technologies and ways of improving crop production. This study was conducted to explore the awareness level of farmers about the different services rendered by the extension field staff. A total of 150 randomly selected farmers were interviewed on a validated and reliable interview schedule face to face. Collected data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Results confirmed that Farmers had a high level of awareness about the promotion of Good Agricultural Practices and the cultivation of alternate crops. Whereas, awareness regarding water-saving methods, high-value crops, irrigation practices and climate challenges was medium. This study opined that farmers need more awareness about climate change and adaptation measures followed by the use of ICT-based gadgets to access desired information. Therefore, the integration of ICTs in communication channels used by extension staff is suggested to disseminate the desired information on a large scale.


Analyzing the Usefulness of Demonstration Plots as Perceived by the Farmers in District Faisalabad, Pakistan

Agricultural extension is the driver of motivation of farmers towards the adoption of agricultural innovations. Therefore, different extension methods are employed to enhance the effectiveness of extension services and bring change in farmers' behaviour. In this study, an attempt is made to explore the use of demonstration plots as perceived by the farmers in district Faisalabad. In this study, a total of 130 randomly selected farmers, five Agriculture Officers (AOs) and five Field Assistants (FAs) participated. From the farmers, data were collected through face-to-face interview techniques on a structured and validated interview schedule whereas from the extension field staff, the data were collected on an interview guide. Quantitative data were analysed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and qualitative data were analysed using a content analysis approach. Qualitative results indicated that the demonstration plots helped farmers to change their behaviour from a traditional farming approach to a modern approach of farming for more production and profits. Group discussion, method and result demonstration methods were focused areas while demonstrating technologies at the demonstration plot. Farmers found demonstration plots useful for the reasons of being active, cooperation from the extension staff, equal treatment to the farmers, participation of farmers in group meetings, enhanced learning and motivating farmers to adopt the latest technologies. Considering the usefulness, there is a need to enhance the number of demonstration plots. More research studies are also recommended to be conducted in other districts of the Punjab s well to investigate the further room for improvement and strengthen the extension services for farmers.

We conducted this study to analyzed the current workload of secondary school teachers in the city of Faisalabad and the effects of workload on the motivation among teachers. A total of 112 randomly selected secondary school teachers participated in the data collection process on a structured and validated questionnaire. Collected data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Descriptive statistical techniques were applied to the data. The results indicated that an average of 65.8 students were in the class and teachers had an average of 6.02 periods in a day. The average number of courses taught was 4.24 and the average number of classes managed by each teacher was 4.32. Extensive documentary work, managing extra time for co-curricular activities and curriculum activities and involvement in irrelevant activities were the leading activities exacerbating the workload. The workload of teachers had adverse effects on class performance, teaching quality, teaching skills and health, as perceived by the respondents. Teachers suggested a collaborative working environment, discouraging irrelevant assignments, incentives for the teachers for performing extra duties, and management of workload to improve the motivation level of teachers. This study suggested a teacher-friendly policy which could keep teachers easy to boost their level of motivation for a more conducive learning environment Teachers should be imparted with bimonthly training, especially on workload management and stress management.

Agricultural growth is obligatory for sustainable rural development and meeting the food requirements for the increasing population. Weeds put biotic stress on the crops and cause yield decline eventually. In this study, we explored the effect of socio-economic attributes of the farmers on the adoption of weed management practices (WMP) in four cropping systems (Rice-Wheat, Rice, Potato, Rice-Maize and Rice-Peas) of the Punjab, Province. Face-to-face interviews were conducted with the 356 respondents chosen through a proportionate sampling method from the District Gujranwala of Punjab. Data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences and frequency, percentage and regression analysis was applied to the data. Results confirmed that respondents' age, education and income were statistically significant (P0.05) with the adoption of WMP. As for as information sources were concerned, the association was significant in R-P (P0.05) and R-Peas (P0.05) cropping systems. This study endorsed that socio-economic characteristic had a key role in technological adoption. To accelerate the adoption, training programs for the farmers, provision of quality weedicides, subsidized inputs and awareness campaigns are suggested.

This study aimed to explore the effect of the institutional environment on the job satisfaction of secondary school teachers in the district of Faisalabad of Punjab, Pakistan Total of 112 secondary school teachers participated in this study as a respondent. The questionnaire was used to collect data from the respondents and collected data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Qualitative data were analyzed using the content analysis technique. Results indicated that a peaceful environment, classrooms in good conditions, clean washrooms for students, washrooms for teaching staff, staff room for teachers, cold water availability in summer, friendly environment, library, furniture in classrooms, appreciation for the quality work, clean environment, training opportunities, encouragement for the teachers and separate officers had a positive impact on the overall academic achievements and overall job satisfaction of teachers. Therefore, it is much needed to improve the institutional environment. Qualitative results indicated that teachers should be kept away from irrelevant and undue tasks. The teaching process should be incentivized to develop a positive competition within teaching groups. Career growth options should be given to the teachers to improve their careers. The school administration and school education department should undertake the importance of the environment and should pay their utmost effort to build a conducive institutional environment for the teachers to work and perform to their best potential.
