... Although empathy is recognised as essential in healthcare, there is limited evidence in the literature regarding its correlation with academic success. Some studies of medical students have shown no correlation between empathy and academic success (Austin et al., 2005;Benabbas, 2016;Finn et al., 2018), while others have shown a positive correlation (Hojat et al., 2002;Jang et al., 2010).
