This study presents normative data obtained in a survey which attempted to determine "how well people would cooperate in responding to the type of item which is included in the typical personality inventory when approached directly by an interviewer in their own residence unit." Another objective of the study was to compare responses made orally to those made by placing a "secret ballot" in a sealed "ballot box." Differences in responses were analyzed and compared with respect to age and socioeconomic status of the respondents, as well as with the method used to obtain responses.

... This was followed by combining the ratings of the four raters and then applying the inter-rater reliability formula to analyse the collected data. This formula was adopted in line with the recommendations of Thorndike and Hagen (1997); Wiseman (1999); and Johnson & Christensen (2000); that if several judges who have equal competence are available with the materials to be rated or equal familiarity with the ratee and the ratings are of a person, then a pooling of their ratings will produce a composite that is more reliable. The reliability index obtained on application of the inter-rater reliability formula was 0.83 indicating that the instrument was reliable. ...

... Bracketing for now that these 'creativity tests' have been shown for over half a century to lack ecological validity, certainly in the severely shortened version used for neuroimaging (e.g., Thorndike, 1963;Crockenberg, 1972;Wallach, 1976;Sternberg, 1985;Plucker, 1999;Ward et al., 1999;Kerr and Gagliardi, 2003;Silvia et al., 2008;Arden et al., 2010;Dietrich and Kanso, 2010;Sawyer, 2012;Abraham, 2013;Weisberg, 2013;Baer, 2016 for a detailed overview, see Baer, 2022), the divergent thinking paradigm is unambiguously committed to a creativity faculty because its logical foundation rests on establishing two distinct mental categories, creative and noncreative. Based on these two groups, stimuli, or conditions, a series of statistical contrasts is performed and the results are discussed. ...

... An eight-item scale to assess psychosomatic health symptoms were constructed (headache, shoulder-/neck pain, stomach-/intestinal pain, sleep problems, feeling sad/depressed, feeling restless and nervous, feeling tired or sleepy during daytime, and heart palpitations) based on previous scales developed for psychosomatic symptoms (Eriksen et al. 1999;Hagquist 2008;Kroenke et al. 2002;Takata and Sakata 2004;Thorndike et al. 1952). Participants were asked to consider how often they had experienced these symptoms during the past 2 months choosing from the following options: Bnever^, Bless than once a month^, B1-3 times a month^, B1-2 times a week^, and B3 times a week or more often^. ...
