The greater knowledge of the potential therapeutic value of medicinal plant can be gained from the chemical composition of medicinal plants produced by plant cells, mostly secondary metabolites created through the metabolic pathway obtained from primary metabolites (Pisithkul et al., 2019). Following Charles Darwin's well-known theory of evolution, "natural selection" or "survival of the fittest" allows the most vulnerable individuals to persist and multiply through the use of plant-based resources, resulting in organisms that are able to adapt to their environment (Richards, 2019).
