There has been renewed interest in identifying the contribution of sound human resource management to increasing organizational value. Watson Wyatt’s Human Capital Index® (HCI) has been described as an effort to quantify the links between superior human capital management and a firm’s financial performance. Specifically, it has been suggested that significant improvement in thirty key HR practices that are organized into five dimensions is associated with a considerable increase in shareholder value. The information presented here has clearly demonstrated the sizable, financial advantage contributed by the effective management of human resource management systems.
