Se reporta por primera vez a Agonosoma trilineatum (Fabricius) alimentándose de Croton conduplicatus Kunth (Euphorbiaceae), además, se confirma la condición dimórfica en los machos en cuanto al patrón de color exhibido en un sistema sucesional de bosque estacionalmente seco en Mérida, Venezuela.

Digitonthophagus gazella (Fabricius, 1787) is a species of beetle of African origin that was introduced in America and other regions of the world, as a species that facilitates the removal of manure in livestock systems. Indirectly, it favors the biocontrol of parasites, the recycling of nutrients and the processes of bioturbation, aeration and percolation in the soil. This species is characterized by its high capacity for dispersal and reproduction. For Venezuela, it has been registered in five federal entities, in this note, the registry is expanded for the states of Mérida and Barinas and new locations are presented for the states of Apure and Zulia, with comments on the possible process of dispersal and establishment with emphasis, on the Zumba Plateau, in Mérida, Venezuela.

Euchroma gigantea (Linnaeus, 1758) o “Barrenador gigante metálico de la Ceiba”, es una especie de Buprestidae (Insecta: Coleoptera) distribuida en gran parte de América. El presente trabajo se realiza con la finalidad de ampliar el conocimiento de la distribución geográfica de E. gigantea en Venezuela. Con la información recopilada aumenta el número de estados registrados para el país, además se incrementan los datos de distribución geográfica local y a nivel del continente americano. Euchroma gigantea (Linnaeus, 1758) or “Giant metallic borer of the Ceiba”, is a species of Buprestidae (Insecta: Coleoptera) distributed in much of America. The present work is carried out in order to expand the knowledge of the geographical distribution of E. gigantea in Venezuela. With the information collected, the number of states registered for the country increases, as well as the local geographic distribution data and at the level of the American continent.

Se registra por primera vez en Venezuela la presencia de Rutela vetula Ohaus, 1913, con base en ejemplares adultos de ambos sexos recolectados en los estados Barinas, Lara y Táchira.

The presence of Chrysophora chrysochlora (Latreille, 1812) is recorded for the first time in Venezuela based on adults specimens collected in the States Táchira, Mérida, Trujillo and Barinas. Information on its distribution in the country is provided and the first herbivory record on Zea mays L. (corn) is reported. Key words: Distribution, herbivory, new record, South America.

Se reportan y describen casos teratológicos en Zatrephina lineata (Fabricius, 1787) basados en tres ejemplares adultos recolectados manualmente sobre hojas de una especie del género Ipomoea (Convolvulaceae) en el Estado Apure, Venezuela. Un ejemplar macho exhibe una hemiatrofia del lado izquierdo del pronoto combinada con una hemibraquielitría del mismo lado. Un ejemplar hembra posee de igual modo, una hemibraquielitría en el élitro izquierdo, y un macho muestra una trematoelitría bilateral. Las posibles causas de estas malformaciones son discutidas y comentadas.
