R.S. Muñoz

In some conferences of the late 1920s and early 1930s, Edith Stein publicly discussed some of her pedagogical ideas in which she refers to the formation of women and the ethos of the female professions. In her course on "The Structure of the Human Person" she dedicates the first chapters to the analysis of the relations between Anthropology and Pedagogy through the reflection on the pedagogical implications of some theories, such as psychoanalysis, deep psychology and the existential philosophy of Martin Heidegger in educational work. In this course of 32-33, she talks about the idea of hyman being as the foundation of Pedagogy and educational work, and presents her main thesis that Anthropology is the foundation of Pedagogy. In this study, we present the most important results of Edith Stein's work and relate them to the concepts of person and formation presented in her writings. We mean to show that the educational work occupies an important place within the personalism of the philosopher of Breslau. © 2018 Centro de Investigacion Social Avanzada. All rights reserved.
