... The La Leona Formation generated a contact metamorphic aureole on rocks of the La Golondrina Formation (e.g., Márquez et al., 2002). Diverse authors obtained numerous Rb-Sr (biotite and whole-rock) and K-Ar (whole-rock) ages for the La Leona Formation, which has been constrained from ca. 212 Ma to ca. 192 Ma (Norian-Sinemurian) (Halpern et al., 1970;Stipanicic et al., 1971;Chebli et al., 1976;Márquez, 1981;Varela et al., 1991;Pankhurst et al., 1993;de Barrio et al., 2023).
