Extant literature suggests that personal values influence consumers' choice, intention, and preference for sustainable and environment‐friendly products. By adopting a replicative and systematic‐cum‐quantitative approach, this bibliometric review attempts to map the existing literature, which jointly studies personal values and sustainable consumption. Choosing from the bibliometric toolbox, we employed a diverse set of analyses such as performance analysis, co‐authorship analysis, cartographic analysis, thematic mapping, and thematic evolution on a refined dataset comprising 419 peer‐reviewed journal articles from 187 journals. The findings of this synthesis point to six distinct topical clusters to orchestrate and present the intellectual structure, along with identifying top contributors and constituents in the domain. We also map the themes and chart the evolution using the Sankey diagram on Bibliometrix‐R. In addition, a three‐dimensional TMC framework is adopted to outline avenues for future research. Furthermore, we suggest implications for theory and practice and elucidate the limitations.

Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management

Drawing support from social identity theory (SIT), the present study examines green corporate social responsibility (GCSR) initiatives, green organizational identity (GOI), and green service‐oriented behavior (GSOB) as antecedents of green employee engagement in the hotel sector. In addition to the direct association between the study constructs, the study assessed the mediating effects of GOI and GSOB on GCSR and green engagement association. Data collected from hotel employees in India utilizing a three‐wave time lag was analyzed through PROCESS macro. The finding confirmed the direct as well as the serial mediating effects of GOI and GSOB for the relationship between green CSR and green engagement. The study is insightful in understanding how GCSR activities can build a green reputation for a company that in turn will enhance the identification of the employees. The uniqueness of this study is evident in studying the constructs that have a strong alignment with the nature of the tourism and hospitality sectors. Conceptualizing the serial mediating effects of GOI and GSOB for the relationship between GCSR and green engagement in the tourism and hospitality sector is also a novel addition to the existing literature.

To better comprehend the trends in the literature on the metaverse, entertainment, and gaming information systems, this study employs a systematic literature review technique. It also makes recommendations for potential avenues for study to further the area. This study reviewed 74 publications about metaverse, entertainment, and gaming information systems using the theory-context-characteristics-methodology (TCCM) paradigm and related documents published in Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) and used the SLR technique because it comprises an objective, transparent, and repeatable process that maximizes data and reduces bias by gathering all pertinent and available evidence on a given subject. This study is exceptional because it (1) examining the study features, research environments, applied theories, and methodologies employed in earlier studies to provide a cutting-edge comprehension of the metaverse, entertainment, and gaming information system literature; and (2) suggests the limitations which future researchers can utilize the opportunity for the field to advance. By identifying these gaps, the study contributes to a better knowledge of the state of the field and acts as a springboard for more research aimed at filling in these gaps and advancing the field. In the end, this research’s conclusions have the potential to significantly advance innovation and advancement in the quickly developing area by improving and fine-tuning gaming and entertainment systems in the metaverse. The findings will contribute to and improve the entertainment and gaming systems that are enabled by the metaverse and assist researchers in concentrating on understanding regions in this diverse field.

To achieve Sustainable Development Goals, countries face the challenge of expanding economic activities while mitigating pollution. Using the panel autoregressive distributed lag and panel non-linear autoregressive distributed lag approach, this study investigates the effects of globalization, economic development, human development, industrialization, non-renewable energy, and population density on the carbon emissions (CO2) of 64 countries. This study validates the Environmental Kuznets Curve hypothesis in upper- and lower-middle-income countries. However, low-income countries exhibit a U-shaped relationship, while high-income countries have successfully mitigated CO2 emissions to some extent. The analysis shows bidirectional causality between CO2 emissions and other variables, except for one-way causality from globalization to CO2 emissions. Manufacturing in upper- and lower-middle-income countries depends on conventional energy sources, indicating the need for policies to promote renewable energy sources. The findings have significant policy implications for enhancing environmental sustainability and achieving sustainable economic growth while mitigating CO2 emissions to achieve the SDGs.

The current industrial scenario is replete with challenges pertaining to the conservation of the environment. The rising importance of sustainability in industrial operations and the multiplicity of the nature of various industrial operations have further confounded this problem. This phenomenon has contributed to the development of several methods and models for measuring the influence of industrial processes on the sustainability of the environment. Researchers and institutions have contributed to the development of metrics which measure the energy footprints of different industrial sectors. This study reviews the metrics in the current body of knowledge to present a structured analysis of various indicators which determine the energy footprints. This study also captures the complex set of indicators and metrics that are applied across different industries for measuring the energy footprint. Given that the extant literature does not present any such evidence which captures the diverse indicators for the measurement of energy footprints, this study occupies a unique space in the current knowledge.
