More than a third of dogs over 10 years old develop chronic valvular disease or endocardiosis. As this review indicates, practitioners must take care when prescribing a combination of drugs and special diets for these geriatric patients.

... Our determination of 80 -85% water content in the digesta was in good agreement with previous findings in the literature. The water content of the ileal digesta is reported to be between 83 and 92% [30], and water content in feces of dogs between 40 and 80%, depending on diet and breed [31][32][33][34][35][36][37][38][39].
