The disadvantages of classical impregnation are compared with the advantages of foam finishing. The foam finishing of a wide range of fabrics (apparel, household, sportswear) is investigated. The effect on some properties (thermal conductivity, water vapour transmission, air permeability) is examined. The relevant Czechoslovak standards are discussed.
