Karnyothrips flavipes (Jones 1912), which was collected from peach and mulberry branches infested with white peach scale, Pseudaulacaspis pentagona (Targioni-Tozzetti), has been newly recorded from Iran. It is also considered to be the first record of the genus Karnyothrips (Watson 1923) for the country. A brief taxonomic diagnosis is provided to facilitate its recognition.
