Grekov s Bulletin of Surgery
An analysis of surgical treatment of 142 patients with cancer of the colon and rectum included 32 emergency cases and 110 scheduled operations. Standard surgical methods only were used in 94 patients, the lymphotropic immunocorrection with myelopidum in the postoperative period was made in 48 patients. The use of lymphotropic immunocorrection was shown to considerably improve the immunological parameters and to decrease postoperative lethality.

Clinical and Applied Immunology Reviews
Major issues of the new scientific field of ecological immunology are considered. The principles of carrying out the immunotoxicological examinations are studied by the example of long-term observa-tions from the ecological–immunological monitoring of adults and children from the West Ural, and also by the experiments (field tests) with animals. The concept of secondary ecologically-dependent immune deficient state is formulated, and the means for immune correction, including prevention, therapy and rehabilitation of the immune system alterations, are addressed.

The FASEB Journal
The aim of this work was the development of a method for direct identification of CD molecules expressed on the human limphocyte surface. The method is based on the use of biotinylated monoclonal antibodies to CD molecules and detecting reagents which were synthesized by covalent binding of Streptavidin with carbon suspen- zoid particles (Streptavidin-C conjugate) as labels. High optical density of these labels gives the possibility to register them in the sites of antibody-CD complex formation using light microscopy. The lymphocytes were separated from human venous blood and incubated with mouse anti-human CD8 biotinylated antibodies. After fixation the smears were covered with Streptavidin-C conjugate in different concentrations for 30 minutes. Then the slides were dyed with hematoxylin. CD8+ cells were calculated using light microscopy. The significant correlation was obtained when comparing light microscopy results with the ones of immunofluorescent detection of CD+ lymphocytes. Apparently developed method can be used to detect other CD-positive cells depending on a specificity of utilized biotinylated antibodies. Stability, visualability, economic feasibility and simplicity in application of the used detecting reagents effectively distinguish them from available enzymatic and fluorescent labels and make it possible to reject the expensive recording equipment.

... In all the examples, sex hormones are found to influence parasite proliferation , macrophage function, inflammation or reproductive and/or exploratory behavior of the parasitized host (Larralde et al., 1995; Zhang et al., 2001; Roberts et al., 2001). Sex steroids also impinge upon the immunological network at both cellular and cytokine levels (Sthoeger et al., 1988; Grossman et al., 1991; Bojalil et al., 1993; Terrazas et al., 1994; Shirshev et al., 1995; Roberts et al., 2001; Morale et al., 2001; Morales-Montor et al., 2001c; Rohleder et al., 2002; Zang et al., 2002). These interactions suggest the potential application of sex hormones in prevention and treatment of parasitic diseases (Beckage, 1991; Zuk and McKean, 1996; Klein, 2000). ...

... From these data it was concluded that industrial factors (crude oil and radiation exposure) can lead to the development of secondary T-cell and combined immune deficiency. The second component of immune monitoring involved the examination of children residing in ecologically unfavorable regions [11] [12] [13]. This observation has been ongoing for 10 years. ...

... Elevated levels of glucagon may also contribute to dysregulation of innate immune cells. Reduced bacterial killing and adaptive immune activation were seen after exposure to high concentrations of glucagon, as evidenced by an impaired respiratory burst, reduced chemotaxis and neutrophil accumulation [173], a shift in gene expression of pro-and anti-inflammatory cytokines in monocytes [174], and reduced numbers and activity of NK-cells [175][176][177]. However, conflicting reports show increased superoxide production in neutrophils and improved cell survival after blockade of the glucagon receptor [178]. ...
