The suboptimal handling and care of newborns are among the factors contributing to perinatal mortality. One of the reasons for the suboptimal handling and care of newborns is the lack of knowledge among mothers about newborn care, especially among primiparous mothers who lack direct experience in caring for newborns. This situation leads to maternal anxiety during the first week of the baby's life. The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between knowledge and anxiety among primiparous postpartum mothers in the care of newborns at the North Buton Regional General Hospital. The research design used is analytical, employing a Cross-Sectional study approach with a sample size of 30 postpartum mothers. Data collected include both primary and secondary sources, and the data analysis involves the chi-square statistical test. The research results indicate a correlation between maternal knowledge and anxiety among primiparous postpartum mothers in the care of newborns, with a p-value of 0.003 < α = 0.000. Consequently, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. In other words, there is an influence of knowledge on the anxiety levels of first-time postpartum mothers in the care of newborns at the North Buton Regional General Hospital.

Labor pain is a combination of physical pain due to myometrial contractions accompanied by stretching of the lower segment of the uterus fused with the psychological condition of the mother during labor. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of deep breathing relax technique on labor pain intensity in the active phase. Quasi-experimental Research Design with pre and post test without control. The sample in this study were 16 people. Sampling with purposive sampling method. The results of the research distribution of respondents before Deep Breathing Relax was mostly felt severe pain and after being given Deep breathing relax treatment most respondents experienced moderate to mild pain with a paried t test value of P = 0.000 < ? 0.05 thus there is an effect of deep breathing relax technique on labor pain intensity in the active phase.

Routine pregnancy check-ups are very important so that problems experienced by pregnant women can be found as early as possible and can be overcome, before they develop into a danger to both the mother and the baby. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge of primigravida pregnant women and the completeness of ANC visits with the level of maternal anxiety facing childbirth. The type of research used is a cross sectional study. The sample in this study were pregnant women in the third trimester who experienced anxiety during the fasting month as many as 59 people with purposive sampling technique. Based on the results of the chi-square analysis, p = 0.012 is smaller than = 0.05, which means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus there is a relationship between knowledge and the level of maternal anxiety facing childbirth. Based on the results of the chi-square analysis, p = 0.024 is smaller than = 0.05, which means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, there is a relationship between the completeness of ANC visits and the level of maternal anxiety facing childbirth.

The target of government in the use of health care facilities for birth process (90% of delivery process in conducted by health practitioners) has not been reached. The research used a cross sectional design. The population included all mothers have given birth process from April to July 2017. The samples were selected using the proposive sampling (with data collection sheet). They were 89 mothers who had previous delivery experience. This study used chi-square test. The data were presented in the form of frequency distribution and percentages followed with narration. The results are: knowledge factor (ρ=0.000 less than α=0.05), habit factor (ρ=0.004 less than α= 0.05), the factor of distance to health care service (ρ=0.001 less than α= 0.05), and midviwe availability factor (ρ=0.003 less than α= 0.05). It is concluded that there is a relationship between knowledge, habit, distance to health care service, midwive availability and requesting midwives to help in birth process.
