Monica Osborne is an English PhD candidate at Purdue University, where her research focuses on modern and contemporary Jewish literature and philosophy. Her dissertation explores the emergence of midrash in contemporary Jewish fiction, and her essay on the use of midrash in the work of Marge Piercy and Alicia Ostriker appears in the 2006 issue of Studies in American Jewish Literature.
