Visagism supports dental professionals not only in obtaining aesthetic restorations, but also a picture of psychosocial characteristics with repercussions on the emotions, the sense of identity, behavior and self-esteem of the patient, clearly expressing the meaning of his personal identity. Starting from the Visagism concept, we aimed to evaluate the correlation between the face shape, the central incisors and the temperament in a pilot study, analyzing young dentate patients. The present study, including fifteen patients with natural teeth, indicated that ten of the analyzed subjects had positive correlations between facial and dental shape and the type of personality, and five of them did not present such correspondence. The concept of Visagism proposes not only aesthetics restorations but also creates an image, which transmits emotions, attitude and self-confidence, factors contributing in particular to the way that patient is perceived after the final prosthetic restoration.
