Background: Legalizing medical and recreational cannabis and decriminalizing this substance may have unanticipated effects on traffic safety. The present study aimed to assess the impact of cannabis legalization on traffic accidents. Methods: A systematic review was carried out following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) declaration of the articles included in the Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases. The number of papers included in the review was 29. Results: The results show that in 15 papers, there is a relationship between the legalization of medical and/or recreational cannabis and the number of traffic accidents, while in 5 papers, no such relationship is observed. In addition, nine articles indicate a greater number of risk behaviors related to driving after consumption, identifying young, male, and alcohol consumption together with cannabis as the risk profile. Conclusions: It can be concluded that the legalization of medical and/or recreational cannabis has negative effects on road safety when considering the number of jobs that affect the number of fatalities.

Although fully automated vehicles (SAE level 5) are expected to acquire a major relevance for transportation dynamics by the next few years, the number of studies addressing their perceived benefits from the perspective of human factors remains substantially limited. This study aimed, firstly, to assess the relationships among drivers’ demographic factors, their assessment of five key features of automated vehicles (i.e., increased connectivity, reduced driving demands, fuel and trip-related efficiency, and safety improvements), and their intention to use them, and secondly, to test the predictive role of the feature’ valuations over usage intention, focusing on gender as a key differentiating factor. For this cross-sectional research, the data gathered from a sample of 856 licensed drivers (49.4% females, 50.6% males; M = 40.05 years), responding to an electronic survey, was analyzed. Demographic, driving-related data, and attitudinal factors were comparatively analyzed through robust tests and a bias-corrected Multi-Group Structural Equation Modeling (MGSEM) approach. Findings from this work suggest that drivers’ assessment of these AV features keep a significant set of multivariate relationships to their usage intention in the future. Additionally, and even though there are some few structural similarities, drivers’ intention to use an AV can be differentially explained according to their gender. So far, this research constitutes a first approximation to the intention of using AVs from a MGSEM gender-based approach, being these results of potential interest for researchers and practitioners from different fields, including automotive design, transport planning and road safety.

The objective of this research is to analyse the evolution of scientific collaboration within Spanish psychology through papers signed by an author who belonged to a Spanish institution of psychology between 1970 and 1989. We analysed a total of 2891 papers published in 29 journals of psychology between 1970 and 1989, examining the scientific collaboration through network analysis, using the UCINET program and Netdraw software. The results indicated that there has been an increased number of papers, authors and signatures over the years, as well as an increased scientific collaboration. Between 1985 and 1989, co-authored papers overcame single-author papers. It is shown that the number of authors, as well as of collaboration groups, increased over the years under study. It can be concluded that it was in the second half of the 1980s when scientific collaboration within Spanish psychology increased considerably.

This paper analyses all psychology journals included in the different categories of the JCR (SCI and SSCI) and SJR databases during the period 2014-2016 in order to identify the journals that are better positioned in the discipline, and the specialities and countries with the highest number of publications indexed in such databases. Method: The distribution of psychology journals by country, quartile, and subject category was studied in order to determine the total number and position of journals in each country, and to identify the countries with more journals of ‘excellence’ in psychology in the international scene. Results: The United States and the United Kingdom had the highest number of journals included in the databases, as well as the Netherlands, Germany, France and Spain. Only 11 countries have psychology journals in quartile 1 in JCR, and 14 in SJR databases. Conclusions: As a result of the application of new evaluation criteria in psychology research in Spain, the paper addresses the difficulties and consequences that some of these measures may have for the survival of psychology journals that do not have a position in quartile 1 or 2 in the databases used for the evaluation of professionals’ research in this discipline

The main objective of this study is to figure out the volume and evolution of the Spanish scientific production in Psychology based in the data provided by the databases Web of Science (Thomson Reuters) and Scopus (Elsevier) during the years 2000-2009. It is proposed to determine which are the scientific journals used by most Spanish psychologists to spread their research at an international level; and to compare the coverage and overlap of the journals and documents that are present in both databases. Quantitative data is offered, as well as the possible correlation between both databases is studied and the overlap of documents and journals is analyzed, such as the increase model that is present and the dispersion of the articles, among others. The results demonstrate that both information systems are complementary but not exclusive, as well as the relevance and importance of the Spanish journals in Psychology which use the diffusion of the research in this discipline in the international science context.

A bibliometric analysis of the first 36 years (1965-2000) of the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology (JPSP) is presented. The authors analyzed the structure of JPSP on the basis of contents and other aspects related to productivity, such as growth in the number of articles and authors, and "invisible colleges." In 2001, JPSP articles were cited over 23,000 times. An increasing number of older, classic articles are cited, suggesting that there are an accumulating number of citations whose influence endures over time. JPSP articles have grown in length, number of studies included, number of references, and number of authors and have become more international with an increasing proportion of authors from outside the United States. The pattern of findings suggests an increasingly complex and mature science.

... Psychology is a discipline that is usually classified within the social sciences, although due to its interdisciplinary nature, it also has an important presence in other areas of research, such as science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), medicine, public health, social work, education, and other disciplines (Faulkner, 2021). Spain is among the most productive countries in the field of psychology, in terms of both researchers (L opez-L opez et al., 2015) and journals (Osca-Lluch et al., 2018), particularly regarding production in WoS in the areas of multidisciplinary psychology, experimental psychology, and clinical psychology (Barrios et al., 2013).
