(2016), after surveying asylum-seekers/refugees, public service providers and interpreters across five unnamed regions in Spain, came to the following conclusion: whereas most people involved in the field consider that the provision of interpreting services is very important (not only as far as the asylum application procedure is concerned, but also for asylum seekers' and refugees' full integration in the Spanish host society), these services are usually provided by ad hoc interpreters lacking proper training, and professionalization of the sector is called for.
