A case of Yersinia enterocolitica septicemia is reported. This case is unusual as the infection was apparently acquired within the hospital and septic shock occurred during the course. Immunodeficiency, which is nearly consistent in similar observations and was established in the index case, was apparently caused by protein-calorie deficiency, without any of the usual associations reported in the literature.

60 malades présentant une toxi-infection à germe anaérobie : myosite, cellulite ou viscérite, ont été traités par l'association oxygénothérapie hyperbare, antibiothérapie et chirurgie. Des bactéries anaérobies ont été isolées chez 32 malades. Le plus souvent, il s'agissait de Clostridium et Bacteroides. Ils étaient toujours associés, sauf dans les hémocultures, à des germes aérobies ou aéro-anaérobies. Les auteurs n'ont pas trouvé de relation entre les résultats thérapeutiques et les bactéries isolées. Aussi, ils insistent sur l'importance du traitement précoce qui doit être entrepris sans attendre les résultats des examens bactériologiques.

The authors report three observations of streptococcal gangrenous cellulitis (necrotizing fasciitis). In all the cases, a β-hemolytic group A Streptococcus was isolated. This cellulitis is a serious infection, often fatal with a fulminant evolution. The diagnosis must be made as early as possible, the principal treatment being the chirurgical excision.

Les complications pleurales des salmonelloses restent une éventualité rare. Les auteurs rapportent deux observations de pleurésie purulente à salmonelle non typhoïdique. Dans un cas, la malade avait un terrain favorisant : lithiase biliaire et cirrhose. La guérison a été obtenue par un traitement antibiotique par voie générale. Dans l'autre cas, le malade est décédé brusquement au bout de trois jours d'hospitalisation, avant que l'on ait pu l'explorer complètement et découvrir peut-être une maladie sous-jacente.

Outre la méningite chronique avec hypoglycorachie, il existe une secrétion intrathécale d'immunoglobulines et des réactions immunologiques positives dans le sang et le LCR. L'évolution, marquée par la survenue d'une hyponatrémie de dilution, a été fatale malgré un traitement par rifampicine et doxycycline.
