Considers the theory of the process of fiber transition between the serrated surfaces of rotating drams in the fractionation device of cottonized flax fiber on hard and soft fractions. On the basis of the law of conservation of mass balance developed a theory of the process of unidirectional transfer cottonized flax fibers from serrated surface of one rotating drum on the serrated surface of the other rotating drum. Derived dependence for the calculation length of zone of mechanical removal cottonized fibers in the fractionation process and the dependence for the calculation of downloads of the serrate rotating drams.

Discusses the aerodynamic field in the chamber of sorting a fibrous mixture into fractions. Given a geometric model of areas of the chamber, under the action of negative pressure gradient, where applicable the methods of potential theory of flat flows. Compiled conformai mapping of these areas on a half-plane and deduce a complex potential. Given a method for calculation of velocity of air in the chamber, based on the application of computation of functions of a complex variable in the environment of mathematical package Mathcad.
