An account of section Lonchocarpus of the genus Lonchocarpus for Bolivia is given. Of the five species found, four were new to science, all of them endemic to Bolivia, Lonchocarpus lomentaceus, L. neei, L. riparius, and L. sericophyllus are described, illustrated, and mapped. A key to distinguish the species of section Lonchocarpus is provided.

Eysenhardtia officinalis (Leguminosae, Papilionoideae), a new species from Mexico, is described and illustrated. This species appears similar to E. polystachya (Ortega) Sargent and E. texana Scheele, but differs in the number and morphology of the leaflets, the longer inflorescences, the flower and fruit morphology, and in altitudinal distribution. A table for comparing related taxa is also provided.
