... I (first author), the consultant, just completed a master's degree in sport and performance psychology at the time of intervention. My philosophy aligns with a humanistic-eclectic approach (Ivey et al., 1993;Young, 1992), with a holistic perspective of developing the whole person beyond sport and encouraging each athlete's self-discovery to foster a true sense of self.
