In relation to pre-service teacher education content foci, we found evidence for the potential positive value of emphasizing teaching in a multicultural or multilingual setting, student behavior and classroom management, teaching cross-curricular skills, and monitoring students' development and learning. Our finding of an association between a preservice emphasis on teaching in multicultural/multilingual settings and teaching practice is consistent with prior evidence that pre-service teachers' multicultural awareness is related to their teaching skills as operationalized by performance assessments (Cherng & Davis, 2019). The observed positive relationship between a pre-service emphasis on student behavior and classroom management and teaching practices is also consistent with prior experimental research on the effects of pre-service classroom management training (Klopfer et al., 2019). ...
