... For one, campaigns and elections are fundamentally about winning, and the reporting of them tends to adopt strategy framing (Cappella & Jamieson, 1996). Strategic news coverage focuses on winning vs. losing, polls, disagreement among candidates, political parties or voters, and campaigning tactics for a candidate to take lead involving, for example, their performance and style (de Vreese & Elenbaas, 2008;Jamieson, 1993).
