An Hand des Cellulose-Bestimmungsverfahrens von Kürschner-Hoffer wird ein kurzer Überblick über die Bedeutung der “Reincellulose” und der “Holzcellulose” in verholzten Membranen gegeben. Einige Verbesserungsvorschläge zum Kürschner-Hoffer-Verfahren werden besprochen. Nach kurzen allgemeinen Betrachtungen über Lignin wird ein neues quantitatives Ligninbestimmungs-Verfahren beschrieben. Der aromatische Anteil der verholzten membranen wird dabei durch alkoholische Salpetersäure in Nitrolignin überführt und dieses quantitativ ermittelt. Es folgt eine kurze Diskussion der Ergebnisse. Dealing with the Kürschner-Hoffer method for the analysis of cellulose a short survey is given on the significance of “pure cellulose” and “wood cellulose” in lignified membranes. A discussion of several proposals for the improvement of this method follows. After short general reflections on lignin a new method for the quantitative analysis of lignins is described which provides the conversion of the aromatic component in the lignified membrans into nitrolignin by means of alcoholic nitric acid and its subsequent quantitative analysis. The paper ends with a short discussion of the results.
